What Are The Advantages/Disadvantages of Making YouTube Videos

Updated on March 16, 2016

YouTube is currently giant video social networking website on the World Wide Web(WWW). Lots of peoples are creating videos of themselves and publish it over YouTube.

As per YouTube Statistic, 4 billion videos are viewed each single day, 60 hours of video are uploaded every minute, or one hour of video is uploaded to YouTube every second. That is the biggest achievement of YouTube in terms of traffic.

If you are a fond of making videos like me, you can publish your self made videos on YouTube to get fame.I have started a comedy YouTube channel just for entertaining people and for fun on 5th December 2010. After a year, I got a mail from YouTube saying Invitation to earn money from uploaded videos on YouTube.I got shocked.

When I clicked the link mailed to me, it says me to associate my YouTube & Google adsense account to earn money from it.I associated and started receiving video impression as well as earning from YouTube.

Advantages of Making YouTube Videos

1.Fame : The very first thing is to get fame and personality over internet world. Is I have already said there are millions of videos are viewed per day on YouTube as per YouTube statistic, So If your videos are genuine and interesting, people would like to see more uploaded videos on your channels. This way people would recommend your channel to other peoples over internet like "hey, here is interesting YouTube channel I found, you might like to watch it".

People will know you by your name, and you will have millions of YouTube subscribers with millions of your channel views.E.g. RayWilliamJohnson is the comedy YouTube star on YouTube. So everyone on YouTube are watching his video and know that the person with RayWilliamJohnson name is very comedy YouTube.

2.Money : Money is the first thing that wanted by everyone.Because if you are making videos you need money to buy expensive cameras, electricity bills, internet bills etc.So without money you can not do anything.

YouTube allow you to associate your Google Adsense account with it and give you an opportunity to earn money from your uploaded videos.

If you don't have already Google adsense account, it allow you to create new Google adsense account with your YouTube profile.

Note that you will get invitation mail from YouTube to earn money, than only you can create or associate your Adsense account with YouTube. The number of videos your page will have, the amount will be credited into your adsense account based on CMP/CPC based ads shown on your videos.

3.Quality backlinks : If you own a website/blog, you can get backlink from YouTube by creating YouTube profile page and add your site link to there. However If you are making videos related to your articles, you can get quick PR 8 backlink to that article because YouTube has PR 8.

The backlink you will get is no dofollow however PR8 backlink is important in terms of SEO.So get at least one backlink from YouTube by making one video to move your blog towards high PR.

4.Meet new people with similar interest : It can be a video social networking website for you. You can get connected with the person who have similar idea and interest as that you own.People who like your thoughts and idea would subscribe your blog and this way you can get instantly connected with them easily.

5.SEO done by YouTube : Unlike bloggers, you need not to do self SEO or do pay for SEO because SEO of your videos has been completely maintained by YouTube. All you need to do is just upload video you created. Give attractive tittle to it & provide little description along with some related keyword to it.You have done.

Disadvantages of Making YouTube Videos

1.Video Editing Skills : If you have made popular channel, you need to edit your YouTube videos and add some video interference to it like annotation and lot more.

The video editing program you need to buy and learn it or hire a person with video editing skills. You need to pay him salary for it.

2.Cost: The maintenance costs like digital cameras, hiring skilled person, investment for buying some costly instruments etc wold require money. You have to spend your own money until you get payment from YouTube.

3.Account Disable/Flagged: If you are copying the anyone's video or making video that do not comply with YouTube terms and condition your YouTube profile might get flagged or your adsense account can also be banned. So better to make video with own idea instead of implementing other ideas.

I own 2 YouTube channels and both have different niche. The first one is comedy channel on which I am uploading self made comedy videos and second one on which I am uploading tutorial videos.

If you like anyone of them, please subscribe to it and stay updated with the regular videos. If you still have any question regarding the topic, leave your comment below in the comment section below, I will try my best to solve your query.

I am blogging since last two years and having good experience with blogging worlds as well as Search Engine Optimization(SEO) world.I am sharing my own views and experience with fellow bloggers to get more from their blogging.

Great article, it definitely can be a good way to network with people with similar interests. The biggest problem I have is editing videos right now because it seems complicated at first and can take a lot of time. Im on Youtube: @Legendary Dream
