What is Immigrant 101?

Recently, I have come across this new site called Immigrant 101 (

Immigrant 101 is a platform that connects dreamers to Knowledge and Opportunities to make the American Dream a Reality for all.

People genuinely can and want to help the world around them but they need the right venue to do so. The knowledge to make one leave from a menial life/job/career to a fulfilled life, so they can better take care of their family is all hidden in the mind of people like YOU and me, and specifically, people who are immigrating in search of a better life.

Immigrant 101 serves as a platform to connect these immigrants with other immigrants and people who want to help make the Immigrant Dream possible for these immigrants. Users can ask questions on immigration about subjects such as education, jobs, housing, scholarships, and much more! Other users who are knowledgeable about these subjects can then answer these questions, and help the asker with their journey as an immigrant. In addition, the site provides links to legal resources that users can then reference to have a more in-depth understanding of their new country’s legal system.

Overall, the site looks really clean and organized, with an easy to use Q&A system. There are different categories and tags that users can label their questions with, giving a professional feel for the site. However, what really fuels the site is the sense of community that it brings for its users. Although there are not that many users as of right now, the site has over 5,000 hits and 64 questions asked (with 61 questions answered). I can tell that this sense of community really brings the users together, and that everyone on the site is dedicated towards helping immigrants pursue their dreams, and their new lives that they hope to create.

Visit the site at, or simply click the embedded links inside this article to view the site. The site will officially launch on October 15th, 2018 and hopes to become a large community of users who help each other out, and answer any questions immigrants might have about immigration.
