Everyone is hooked on facebook, and the health nuts are saying that too much time spent on social networking or using our mobile phones too often is bad for health. In a world where we get access to technology at our fingertips, it is not surprising not an average person can spend between 30 minutes to 2 hours "facebooking".
Well, this article is here to tell you that Facebook can be good for you!
Benefits of Facebook
1. Facebook takes your mind off stress.
Rather than constantly thinking about work-related issues, spending time on Facebook takes your mind off these matters and allows you to enjoy the latest gossip or photos of your friends. It gives you some fun time in between your appointments and during your breaks.
2. You know you are not alone.
A status update about having a bad day can generate many concerned comments from your friends, and make you feel better.
3. It makes you more sociable.
Leaving comments, uploading photos, tagging friends make your social life more fun. Many long lost friends have also been reunited through Facebook. In fact, I reunited with my primary school mates whom I have lost contact for 15 years via Facebook and we are still organizing meet-ups every now and then. Joining groups also allows you to have discussion about things that members have in common and have passion for, and it can be really fun.
4. It preserves memories.
We love uploading photos and commenting on them, and when you look back at this some time later, you may laugh at some of them. Facebook helps to preserve these wonderful moments and let us look back with fond memories in the future.
5. Facebook gets the word out faster than so many other channels.
Be it organizing an event or marketing your stuff, you can guaranteed exposure more quickly and easily than other channels through your friends and your friends's network and the list goes on and on. As a writer, Facebook helps to create awareness for my articles easily.
6. You actually learn from Facebook.
Latest ground-breaking news, gossip and videos are all posted on Facebook by your friends regularly, and believe it or not, you can actually enrich your minds through these links.

I myself spend an average of between 30 minutes to an hour a day on Facebook. This is made so much easily with my iPhone and an unlimited data plan. Facebook keeps me occupied when I am travelling to my next destination or in between appointments, and I appreciate this wonderful social networking place that bonds so many people together.
