Why is web content important in website development?

Updated on February 11, 2014

Importance of website content!

Content is definitely the key to website success! With much thought, deciding to share my website success secrets is very courteous and risky. All over the Internet, people are searching for ideas to improve and increase their website's traffic. They are speeding around and searching for that certain website tip that will make them succeed. Many people overlook the importance of content to their websites. They are looking at all the link exchange sites, affiliate banners, sending out email blasts and completely rushing into the whole web site development process without stopping, seeing and using the obvious techniques. Website competition is way to high at this point to be doing what everyone else is. Many beginner website owners, including myself have made and or learned from this mistake. Your website needs content! That is as blunt as I can be about it.

For those of you who do provide great text and information in your website, then that is wonderful. Just keep those fingers typing and your mind working. The more quality information you provide via your site, the better your website will be. This article will tell you the reasoning behind quality content and it's importance. Notice how I stated "quality content"? Quality content is important because you want your readers to like what they read when they are directed to your website.

Content helps increase page rank!

Content helps increase your chances at a higher page rank. Once again, I am going to add quality in front of content. Quality content increases higher search engine page rank. From experience and many site reviews, content plays a major role in where you are ranked. I am going to use google as an example because they are now considered to be the top search engine. If you want your website to be ranked high in google results, you need to provide helpful and informative content to your website. Google indexes every body's websites and web pages eventually. They are looking for the best information to provide to their search topic results. Who wants to go to a website that has many website photos, graphics and or designs but no content? People use the Internet to search for helpful how to's, instructions, research results, facts and information.

A large majority of Internet user's are searching to learn. With that said, if you want your website to be ranked higher then your competitors, build strong and quality content. Teach those who are searching for your information. Choose a website topic that you have much knowledge about and write your heart out. Please keep in mind that there are other factors that also help your page rank. If you are serious about making a successful website, add quality text and do more research on web site development. Learn SEO and gain quality back links to help your website's page rank.

I will provide helpful links below if you need more tips on website building. You will have access to seo tips, page rank, how to make your website popular, how to make a cheap website a success, what pages are needed for your site and much more!

Content definitely matters, but it isn't all there is. Read Google's webmaster guidelines or Bing's and you'll find the same advice there. Content matters, but get your format right, or we'll jack it up :)

      Very insightful hub. Thanks, Tammy.

I'd say content is 80%, SEO is 20%. I'm building a website. I do absolutely no SEO and still the site has 1st, 2nd, 3rd rankings in Google country-specific search for popular keywords. And, btw I don't care about keyword research either. :)
