Wordpress Plugin and Wordpress Adsense

Updated on May 11, 2011

Design Wordpress

In this article I thought I would talk about my Wordpress blog that was designed to review mainly gadgets and technology gizmos but has in turn generated a lot of interest in my hubs through the RSS feed I included on the site.

For those of you without Wordpress blogs you need to know that it appears like any other personalised website except the design/layout comes in the form of a 'Wordpress Theme' which you can either choose from the standard gallery or purchase from specialist websites if you require something stylish. If you wish to add different text pages you simply 'add post' as you would if you were submitting in your Snipsly account for example.

Wordpress Login

Firstly you will need to get a Wordpress login but you will probably also want to purchase a '.com' domain name from them because free domain names with them do not allow you to earn from Google Adsense and you also have an ugly '.wordpress.com' at the end of the blog address.

It is important to note that a lot of features that you have on your Hubpages account including RSS feeds, Google Adsense and Google Analytic's need to be implemented using individual Wordpress plugins that you can search for in the 'Plugins' section on the left hand tool bar of your account. Once you have selected 'Plugins' you must go to the grey 'Install Plugins Button' in the top right hand corner of your Wordpress account, then type what ever feature you are looking to implement.

Wordpress Adsense Theme

Some people have designed the 'Wordpress Adsense theme' designed pages and are claiming they are specifically optimised to earn you more money from Google Adsense because the ads are placed in locations they would be more likely to receive clicks.

There is no point buying into this hype until you know your blog is going to be getting a lot of visitors, a good Google Adsense Wordpress blog will have gained viral traffic due to the great topics it talks about and will gain good organic traffic from generating backlinks at high PR 6-7 article directories such as Reddit and Digg.

To get a Google Adsense Wordpress site that ranks high in search engine pages you will also want to think about including keywords in the title and in the sub text as I have done in my blog and using the top keyword's 'Gizmos and Gadgets' found in Google Keyword tool.

Wordpress Adsense Plugin

I used the Wordpress Adsense Plugin 'Quick Adsense' and 'Adsense Integrator' and they were both fairly easy to apply, you may want to search for these and once you have installed them you can easily control where your Adsense Ads are placed on your site by using the widgets function on the left hand tool bar.

The Wordpress Adsense widget can easily be placed in the sidebar left column of your website, sidebar right column, sidebar one column or the footer and you simply copy and paste your Adsense for content HTML code from your Google Adsense account into the widget.
