Yahoo and Polyvore Love Affair

Updated on August 3, 2015

Yahoo Take Over

Lately Yahoo has been on a Google sized power trip. In May 2013 Yahoo reportedly bought Tumblr for a lovely lump sum of $1.1 billion, that is a ton of frog skins. According to All Things D, The Yahoo team promised "Not to Screw it up." They have not yet done so, I ask that they make the same deal for Polyvore. Please.

If you have know idea what Polyvore is I'm here to let you know, it is the best stress reliver of all time, but seriously. Polyvore is a site where you can make collections using some of your favorite brands. It is a Fasionista's guilty pleasure. It is honestly the largest fashion search engine on the Web.

The company launched in 2007 and has been a hit ever since. According to Recode nine million people visisted Polyvore's websites and apps in the month of June. The audience size knocks out the competion, Wanelo and Fancy. The only thing that Polyvore does not do is let users buy directly from their sitee, bummer! Hey Yahoo, maybe you could work this into the deal?

The Deal

So what's the deal with the deal?

Yahoo bought Polyvore for $200 million dollars. The news spread through the internet on Friday, I did not hear about it until today. Yahoo might have to pay another $40 million dollars for employee pay outs. According to sources Yahoo will not change the sight, only add on more features and make Polyvore even more amazing than it already is. Let's hope they keep this promise

I am pretty excited to see what happens. I am on a good amount of social platforms, maybe to many, and I am always excited for news and changes.

Way to go Yahoo!

Your Thoughts.

What do you think about the buy?
