Until I lost my supplier, I owned a website that sold eternity rings. I was able to get my website up to the first page within a two month period with some very simple techniques. Relevance is the ultimate consideration with page ranks. My website was strictly related to one subject - eternity rings. I also had a blog that was strictly related to eternity rings. Another very important thing to do is to keep the website current with updated information on a regular basis. My blog was updated at least three times per week and each blog post had a link back to my website. Finally, it is not enough to be relevant and current, you must also have interaction from visitors to your website and to your blog. For instance, each time you post a blog, you want someone to post a comment. If no one posts a comment, it makes the blog appear to be irrelevant. I worked every day on somehting regarding my ranking. Be very mindful of keywords on every page of your website and every blog that you post. Also, use keywords in your titles. You really don't have to pay money to get your website ranked high. You do have to be mindful of the traffic you want to seek and what keywords they would type when searching for what you have to offer.
