Are there computers that display images without requiring monitors or physical screen?
There are several companies working on Holographic technology. Essentially like 3d without the need for 3d glasses - or, at least that's what they are striving for. Apple computers is one of those that just applied for a patent for such technology. I suspect the release of such image presentation is not that far away.
Yes all computers constantly display a screen image. The image is mapped across video memory. The physical monitor/display picks it up from that memory and shows it on the physical screen.
You actually seeing the image being displayed has no baring whether or not it is being displayed.
yes, some devices use small projectors to display the images on a wall for example.
