It's really a matter of perspective. I haven't have a land line telephone for over three years, and haven't missed it. My cell phone is more than sufficient and frankly far fewer telemarketers reach it. 80% of my mail is junk that I put in the recycle bin, and I do almost all of my finances online. Whenever I order a package, most of the time it's UPS or FedEx
So, if the USPS is losing money, that means you and I (taxpayers) are subsidizing an aspect of government that is no longer needed, and is, in fact, unnecessarily taking our hard-earned money. That said, the only reason to be sad about it is for sentimental reasons - no company would continue to exist as a money-loser. Sorry Cliff Clavin (Cheers...)!
