Is a modern day Titanic impossible?
The sinking of the massive liner in 1912 is one of the most devastating ocean tragedies in the history of the world. I read a recent newspaper article stating that sinking of the ship could have been avoided or more lives could have been saved.
Imagine a Titanic in 2012. Could technology really save this mammoth from going down?
The actions of the crew are more important. look at the costa concordia as a perfect example. depth sensors, flood doors, state of the art communications systems and she still sank because of an incompetent and arrogant crew. That is more or less what happened to the Titanic. Look into the hearings that occurred after she sank.
No, the mining king of Australia has already proposed the remaking of Titanic. It would be exact replica of Titanic in model but will be tuned to modern style, technology and luxury.
