Is it worthwhile for a Windows user to try a Mac for his/her next computer?
I have been using Windows computers my whole life however I am considering switching to a Mac to be compatible with both. What are everyones opinions about the two brands?
Is one better than the other?
Is converting too complicated?
I ended up buying a Macbook Pro a couple years ago. Before that, I used Windows exclusively, though I'd had some experience with Mac OS.
Now, I use a combination of both. I'd actually like to use the Mac exclusively, but I also play PC games, so that's not exactly the best option until more publishers support Mac as a platform. For everything else, the transition was painless.
I use the Mac for all my writing and web design, and I've yet to have any problems with it. Everything's pretty intuitive, and in my experience the OS doesn't slow down over time or need as much maintenance as my Windows computer.
I'm not sure I'd say one is necessarily better than the other, because they both have their strengths, but I personally prefer the Mac for all my creative work.
Thanks for the imput mate! Much appreciated.
I made the switch to Mac 7 years ago and never looked back. It does take a bit getting used to. It depends on what you want and how you want to use them. Converting is easy.
Thankyou, I think I might get a mac now like it seems to be tailored towards my needs a bit more and now that you say that converting is easy I feel I should give it a go! Thanks again for commenting.
