What do you think about Facebook's freedom to change your email/privacy settings without consent?

I am beginning to HATE Facebook, due to their lack of respect for users. We are just pawns for advertising. We have no control over our own information. I hardly post anything personal, yet people post everything, literally. I have a hard enough time tracking my kids whereabouts online as a parent. What are you doing to safeguard yourselves?

I don't trust fb! And I think anyone with kids will agree! Yes give your audience a choice is democratic but they are a business looking to add money to their pockets

Yes, 3 years ago i got creeped out by what they were doing. So I stopped logging in as often. I also stopped putting any pictures on there. Zuckerberg, is a a huge voyeur who wants a bit of everyone in his life in a weird way.

That's great if it works for you and if that's how you prefer Facebook users to contact you, but why does Facebook have to change everyone's email to the ones they made up, and do it without consent or notification?

Good call Debby! I've done this myself and neglected to mention this in my answer. We just need to keep one step ahead of Facebook at all times :-)

you can delete your primary email and use another email in replace of it or hide your info. But I think they can still unlock anyy thinh on there because you agree to be on the site. So your choice is to censor what you write.

why do they have the right to censor us... they control all the information about us...I think there needs to be a facebook revolt. Yes, it is a choice to join, but they have changed their mission and that is to market us to death. Is that legal?

You and me both, SportsBetter! Despite promising myself I'm going to quit it, I've been known to be pretty vocal on FB when it comes to our Prez and Gov. I'm sure I'm on their "watchlist" by now :)
