I would say we already travel through time. We only go one way however.
We can also in a sense travel through time within ourselves. We can recollect past events together with the emotions we felt at the time. With recollection however we cannot move beyond a time of personal experience or change a point of view or alter any outcome of a situation.
Time travel into the far past is theoretically possible, it would just ttake so much energey that it is at present an unrealistic proposition. As the theory requires that in order to return to the past or even go into the far future one would need to move every atom in the universe to a point which it held or will hold at the required time.
Since the natural progression of time and the universe is toward entropy we might be able to go forward in time with speeding up the process, like a surfer riding a wave onto a beach. Bringing the surfer back however would be much more difficult.
