I have a search engine problem

I have AVG-paid version. I have Google Chrome that I am using. I have selected the Google Chrome be my default search engine, but AVG's isearch takes control. I did go to where it is checked and unchecked it...only for it to take control when I open a new tab yet again. I cleared the cache for the last 4 weeks. This problem has only been happening the last couple of days. How do I stop AVG's isearch from taking over my computer?!??
