Can you recommend a good video editing software?

Minimal price or free ones will be good.

there are a few free ones,  but for minimal price try looking up "Pinnacle Studio" I've used it and you can really create some pro stuff with it

"Camtasia studio" is a really good one to start with. It is free for one month (Trial period). I recently purchased "sony movie studio platinum 12". Hands down. it works perfectly and im now able to create good quality videos for all my youtube channels.
    I've put one in this hubs--  http://ajs1.hubpages.com/hub/Online-Bus … ine-Income
That was about $70. It also has all the instructions and step by step tutorials in it. I'd recommend sony movie studio platinum. Provides good value for the price. Not bad at all.

Good ones are never free and free ones are never as good.... what I believe you are looking for is the best video editing software at minimal price.

If you can afford it, Adobe Premiere Elements would be a good choice. It cost US$100, as compared to Adobe Premiere, the full version, which cost a whopping US$799. To me, I have tried both and I must say that Adobe Premiere Elements is good enough because I don't use the advanced features most of the time.

I also like Apple's Movie Maker, as compared to Windows Movie Maker. This comes free with an Apple computer, so you may want to consider that.

The two best video editing software I've used are Sony Vegas Pro and  Adobe Premiere, both are really expensive though.

Depending on your needs the built in Windows Movie Maker (for Windows computers) is a good choice.

Personally I use Sony Vegas but I know that it can be quite expensive. Was just looking and Sony do have a cheaper alternative. Maybe you should look at that. I have always sworn by Sony for video editing software...

That's just my opinion though smile

Check out blender 3d. It's an open source 3d application which comes complete with a nodes based compositor and Video Sequence Editor. The cost of using it would be nil - so it meets the requirement of being free smile

Now comes the good part. Don't expect an extremely cool looking or user friendly UI - it's a little complex, but you'll get a lot of great video tutorials. You'll quickly learn Doing simple stuff like trimming a movie, mixing music etc. Little more effort and you could start using transitions between multiple clips, changing the look and feel of the movie with simple color curve editing.

Get your hands dirty, and welcome to world of hell lot of amazing stuff - camera tracking (include some 3d objects in your videos), hue adjustments of particular objects with masks for specific time duration - thats just the starting. You could even change the frame rate and also make the video run slower in parts for that slow motion effect.

Anusha, I am looking for a video-editing software because my Windows Movie Maker is not working. Does Blender 3D have AutoMovie themes, just like Windows Movie Maker? It's so time-consuming manipulating photos one by one.

Ummm no, not exactly. No ready made auto movie themes. Although you could reuse once you've created some interesting sequences... but off course it won't be same. I use Apple's iPhoto slideshow to create these on my macBook.

Pinnacle Studio Ultimate is the program that I have been using for the last 10 years.  I taught myself how to use Windows Movie Maker first, then I purchased Studio for about 49.99.  It is a great program, very intuitive.

Blender is a complete 3d suite, open source as thus free of cost. It comes complete with a sequencer, which can be effectively used as a video editor. Best part is, its absolutely free! read more
