what do you choose, macbook or pc?
spending my money on a new laptop in the next few days. leaning towards a macbook. any insight?
I feel windows is best because it has its problems and remains faithful, while mac is more secretive about its numerous issues and complexities.
I recently made the switch from Mac back to PC, but I'd still recommend a Mac if you don't play a lot of games. I do, hence the switch. If you're getting a PC I would wait a few days for Windows 7 to come out - it's way better than Vista. Good luck!
Macbook is the way to go. With PC's you always have to get virus protecters and all of that stuff. With mac's there alot faster and rarely have anything happen to them. I own 2 macs myself and they are perfect.
In my opinion i would advice you to go for a PC for the hardware compatibility. Yes, Macs are nice and it is very rare to get infected with viruses, but the reason how you can get infected is usage and apparently you can install a different OS on your pc (eg. linux) and you wont have to worry about viruses, and if you miss windows, you can dual-boot it with windows, and can have the best of both worlds.
Check out my hubpage for how to dual boot linux and windows (coming soon).
I am not sure how much a mac book cost in your place.
But for me, macbook price here in malaysia is very expensive compared to pc.
So, I am using pc.
Yes that true.. mac are more expensive but more powerful too.
I'm using windows. Windows is more user friendly that mac.
thanks for the replies. its true, macbooks are a bit more expensive. i think they are better in terms of working with photos and music. for this reason i am leaning more towards switching over to a mac...
It depends on you, and what you'll do with it. Most people are probably better off with a mac. I've got a Mac and have Windows and Linux running on it too. PCs can run more programs, but will cause you more issues. I like have Windows in virtual environment. Keeps it contained. If your uses are simple, then Mac. If your a big poweruser of high-end programs and games, then PC. If your a geek then you wouldn't be asking the question and you'd own both.
What's the difference between a station wagon and a Ferrari? They've both got four wheels and will get you to the place you want to be.
It's just how you want to get there that is the question? Do you want to save money, and settle for the station wagon. Maybe more likely to break down, be an uncomfortable ride, the user experience isn't as friendly,etc... but will stil more than likely get you to your destination; Or do you want to pay a little more and ride with comfort, have better performance and handling, a better user experience overall, and may get you to your destination even faster?...
I've never met anyone who's used a Mac for a long time and said the heck with it I'm going to go get a PC...
I've heard the opposite from PC users though...

Mac or PC? Which one is better?

Should I buy a mac rather than a pc laptop, even though a mac is more expensive?I need a new computer. My boyfriend keeps telling me that Apple computers are far more reliable, faster and better than any PC, but they are a couple of hundred pounds more expensive. Is it worth it?

PC or a Mac?Macs are gaining momentum lately. I've always been a PC guy, but I'm not necessarily biased towards one or the other. It would be nice to know what everything thinks, and you enjoy using your respective computer.
