When you "Google" something do you always go to Google?
Or do you go to another search engine? Why? Do you use Google and another search? Do you think there are advantages to using other search sites? If so, what are they?
Set your default search provider for your browser to google and just type the search term into the address bar. As long as your default search provider is google, you will get a results page from google without having to have gone to google's site first. The default search provider for IE is Bing and for Chrome it is google.
If you have the google toolbar, you can type your search string in the google toolbar search box without having to go to google first.
On some phones searching has some additional options. On an Android for example, which will default to google search engines, there are options to speak into the phone and it will search for you and open a browser with the results from google.
Because I often encounter issues with Bing. Google, as fascist as it's becoming, almost always gets me to my destination. And Yahoo!, well, not a chance.
I always use Google but it's also good using a metasearch engine if my query is hard to find. Google always have the answer to what I am searching. If you want to know how many search engines have indexed you, then use the meta engine.
Google is my backup, but I don't often go there. My favorite search engine (and the only other one I use) is Ixquick - it has very few ads and usually gets me the information I'm asking for. It also refuses to share identifying information with the NSA. Here is their link: https://ixquick.com/eng/ (if you speak English).
I really don't give it much thought. It's pretty much dependent upon what I'm doing and looking for at the time. As long as the search engine brings up what I'm looking for quickly. Predominately its either Google or Yahoo, as those are a couple of sites that I frequent the most.
I have been using Google for years and usually use that most of the time on my PC. I have it as the search bar on Firefox which, along with Chrome, are the two browsers that I use every day.
In addition to obtaining good results with my Google searches, I also like its translate feature that allows me to search in other languages especially Russian, a language that I do not know, but have been able research Russian language sources for information on some of the Hubs I have written on Russian topics
I also occasionally use Bing on my PC and have and use both Safari and Google on my iPhone.
YES! I am a mad Google nut and have a Google shortcut on my browser, especially for clicking on and typing stuff into. I often use Google maps and images and I love Google because it seems to be very fast and I hate to wait

Bing or Google? Which search engine do you prefer?I see the commercial on television about how people are choosing Bing over Google as a search engine. I did the "Bing it on" test and my results came out as a draw. What is your experience? Do you prefer Bing or Google?

Alright, this is a very basic question (yes, I know it is, but.....) I thought I understood this but the other night, someone told me that indexing has no affect on page ranking. He went as far as to say that he has purchased page ranking from Google, etc. I have not heard of...
