The only advantage I see of a blog is the instant ability it gives the reader to leave comments or questions directly to something they've read. I'm sure there are ways to integrate a similar feature into a website, but most people don't. There are many advantages to designing a website. A few of them include:
1. The overall page design and backgrounds are completely up to you. While you can use pre-made templates, the coding is easy to learn and the design will be unique.
2. The information you present will be easier to find because you can group all of your pages on the same topic into subcategories. By using "buttons" labeled with the subtopics (ex: writing, my books, about me), readers can go to the exact pages they want to see more quickly.
3. Unless you add them yourself, the visitors aren't bombarded with unrelated ads on the pages.
