    Apple or Others?

    I have always been a Apple user and have come to realise that I think that it is the best. Most Apple users do. It is like us versus the rest of the world. Are you an Apple user and if not what is your favourite computer?

    I believe that when you say "Apple user" then you actually mean a "Macintosh user". But I even had Apple computers before the Macintosh was released on the 18th January 1984.
    My earlier Apple computers were: II+, ///, and even a Lisa.
    I got my first Macintosh on "day one", i.e. the 18th January 1984, and I have followed "the Macintosh path" ever since. I did try the IBM DOS, OS/2, and later the Windows based PCs, but I never liked any of them.
    I still believe that Macintosh is the best computer.

    I have several Apple devices and I like them. Compared to others platforms, they are arguably more intuitive and simple to use. The downside of course is their higher price tag.

    I think the "us versus the rest of the world" mentality is actually a weak point for Apple. If their devices were more compatible with other platforms, I think they would gain more customers.

    The other tech companies have been catching on to Apple for several years now, modeling more of their products after Apple's strongpoints. This, coupled with the passing of Steve Jobs probably marks the end of Apple's dominance.

    A number of factors will determine whether I continue to use Apple products. Only time will tell if they will be worth the price.
