If it is a computer simulation, you have to wonder what is the purpose of the program? Or is it just a computer program gone stupid.
I have always thought that deja vu was just a glitch in the synapse to where we see something then see it again but it is the same sequence. The first captures the event then the second is just a playback. imo

And if it is a computer simulation, then it is God's computer.

Hypothetically It could be that the mind is an indivisible part of a whole reality. We percieve time in a sequential linear fashion whereas reality is all the time combined. Past present future is one thing. Maybe deja vu is an ability to tap into that hypothetical future that already exists.

How is it the future if it already exists?

I'm sure your answer is correct in that deja vu is some feedback or loop in the brain. Future is semantics. What is now, proper or coordinate.

Phoenix your version was better. I like the stm, " Future is semantics. What is now, proper or coordinate.". The future also comes up when people talk about Time Travel.

Time travel is a good term. Travel means going to a place. Perhaps the future is a location as to where we will be.

Scientism is approaching religious theology levels - that nothing is real but we're all a simulation in a computer mind is akin to the idea that all the world is a dream of a deity.
This same parallel is seen with transhumanism and the worship of artificial intelligence. That there is no God but gosh darn it we're going to invent an all knowing, ought to be all seeing and all powerful AI that will be totally benevolent and create paradise on Earth - or we'll slide into starvation, disease, over-heated hell.
They say there is no afterlife but within the lifetime of the people speaking, they expect to be able to upload their minds to a digital heaven that will be paradise.
