They are so closely related that you should probably learn them at the same time.

HTML and CSS work hand in hand.

I programmed for years with HTML, but then I discovered CSS!  Oh man, what a difference!

It's SOOOO much easier using CSS in your HTML and using the tags for formating.

Learn CSS WHILE you are learning HTML and you wont be sorry.

HTML is the basic markup language use to create web pages.
CSS use to make stylish web pages.

So it's better to learn basic and move on. So I recommend you to learn
    01. HTML
    02. CSS
    03. Javascript
    04. DOM

    Hi Shrek619,

You should start from HTML. That is the basis for all the others. CSS is a language that will help you create the design of your website without using tables. (it has many other advantages) But, even if you don't know CSS you can still build websites. Without HTML you can't do anything with CSS.
Javascript is a language to add bits and pieces to the HTML code. Adding some extra features is nice but without having a basic page you don't need them at all. I'm actually not sure about HTML DOM. (but whatever it is it can't be more important than HTML to start with).

If you want to learn HTML check out my hub:

I also have another hum related with that one that is the introduction to build a website that might also be useful to you.

    Hope this helps
