What will we call 'Smart Phones' in the future?
I mean, they've already become pocket computers, more than capable of connecting to the internet, taking pictures, taking video, using GPS, playing games, ect. ect... The word 'phone' just seems more and more outdated. In the coming years, what are we going to be calling these gadgets?
My wish is that we can have a phone that we could phone from any place in the world to anywhere we want at reasonable costs. Right now consumers take smart phones abroad and if they aren`t informed GPRS data sucks money from them. They come back home and have to pay bill even a few thousand of dollars.
Well unless every mobile computer also enables you to make phone calls and send texts, using mobile network's mast coverage etc... (as opposed to VoIP/IM on phones), then I think the word 'phone' is and should always be in there somewhere. Maybe 'smart phones' will just be known as normal 'phones' when they take over the market, becoming similar prices of standard phone models at the moment, and old phones without the additional functions will be known as 'dumb phones'....who knows!
Somehow I see the words "three sea shells" becoming involved.
