Best Case for the Kindle DX - with Light, with Stand, and more!

Updated on May 5, 2012

Get Your Kindle DX Some Clothes!

There are many reasons to dress your Kindle DX, but the most important reason is to protect it from scratches!

I had the unfortunate experience of putting my keys in my bag with my smartphone, and it got a big scratch on it. Now I always use a case to keep my gadgets - including my Kindle DX eReader - from becoming damaged.

The Kindle DX is a great Kindle - with a large screen that makes reading lots of fun - but don't forget to buy a case for it. Here are my recommendations on the best case for the Kindle DX. There are some great ones here. Check out the ones with a built-in stand and light!

Best LEATHER Case for the Kindle DX - This folio style case opens like a book.... Great for continual protection!

This exterior of this case is made out of genuine leather, so it has a nice feel. Some customers find it easier and more comfortable to hold the Kindle DX in a case like this than using the Kindle DX without a case. It makes the Kindle feel more like a book.

This case closes with a strap that has a magnetic latch. This strap can also be used to hold the case open while reading. It's a very slim cover at a very reasonable price.

Best Kindle DX Case with Stand - Built-in Stand Allows Multiple Viewing Angles

What's better than a case? A case with a stand of course!

This leather case is both a great carrying case and a great case for reading! The stand allows you to set up the Kindle DX at just the right viewing angle. No more achy arms or tired neck!

Best Kindle DX Case WITH LIGHT! - Case with a Built-in Light and an Easel Stand!

This is only case for the Kindle DX that has a built-in light.... At least the only one I could find! Great for reading in bed, on the airplane, at night, etc. It is an LED Reading Light that comes on when you extend it. Since it is part of the case, you'll always have the light when you need it!

This case also has a built-in stand. It appears to be a well designed case, perfect for every day use.

Best WATERPROOF Kindle DX Case - Great for reading in the tub, at the beach, or at the pool!

This will protect your Kindle DX from the inevitable splash of water you will encounter if you use your Kindle DX near the beach, pool, or tub. It's not designed to make your Kindle DX submersible, but if you like to read above water, this should work quite well! Read the reviews.

Best HARD Case for the Kindle DX - This rugged case is both silicone and hard plastic. It's all about durability!

Otterbox cases are designed to protect against the accidental bump or drop. This is not a gel case, although it has rubbery silicone on the outside to make it easy to grip. Under the soft silicone, there is a layer of hard plastic. It comes with screen protector.

If you're looking for something that will help your Kindle DX keep working even if it gets dropped or bumped, then this is the one case I recommend.
