Mini Tablets - Easily Transportable and Within Most Budgets

Updated on December 12, 2014

Top rated mini tablets are increasing in styles and demand

The mini tablet is one of the hottest gadgets available these days and is transforming the way we work do anything from socializing to work. Along with smartphones and music players, tablets are being picked up by people at a very fast rate and they are taking over the industry as we know it. It is no doubt that tablets are a must have for people of all ages. What makes this device great is its portability. It's a small device that has all the basic functions of a typical computer.

While the tablet is already more portable than a laptop some people have been asking for something even smaller and more portable. With that, some of today's technology giants have come up with smaller or mini tablets to provide customers with an option for a smaller device. I recently picked up the iPad Mini, and so far I have been very impressed with the quality of the display and navigation (it's like the iPad but smaller).

** Best Choice for Ease of Use and App Market**

Apple's iPad has been the hottest tablet since it came out a few years ago (and in my opinion it's one of the best tablets for your money). Since its first release, Apple has developed several generations of this device. One of the newest members of the iPad family is the iPad Mini.

The Apple Mini gives you everything that you would get from a normal iPad at a size that you can hold with one hand. It features a 7.9 inch LED backlit screen with a resolution of 1024 by 768. While it doesn't have the retina display that the more expensive versions of the iPad have, there really isn't any need for that type of looks amazing and the reduced screen size keeps the pixels sharp.

The Mini runs on Apple's iOS 6 and has a dual-core A5 chip. You can shoot HD videos with the iPad Mini's 5 MP iSight camera. The device only weighs about a pound which makes it super portable. With 10 hours of battery life, there's no need for constant charging.

iPad Mini Accessories

After getting my iPad Mini, I was anxious to see all the cool accessories that I could get that would work with it. Here are some of the best that I found.

iPads can be expensive, why not check out some of the deals on eBay

I found out recently that some of the models, especially the 32GB version are selling for a little bit less than in the stores (including Amazon and Best Buy). Usually, the benefit to getting the Mini on eBay, is the sellers bundle it with other things like a car charger and stylus pen.

Kindle Fire HDX - Amazon product. If you plan on reading a lot of eBooks, check this one out.

Kindle isn't just for e-books now, the Kindle Fire HDX is a highly sought after mini tablet that's available in the market now. It has a 7 inch HD display so you can see rich colors and clear images. If you don't have the budget for an iPad Mini, this would be a great budget alternative since you can buy this tablet for under $300 dollars .

Used and Refurbished Kindle Fire HDX on eBay

While not a significant cost reduction, eBay does have some decent prices for the Kindle Fire HD. You might be better off just getting it from Amazon brand new since the Kindle is attractively priced there now.

HP TouchPad Wi-Fi 32 GB 9.7-Inch Tablet Computer

With a 9.7 LED touch display, this is one of the bigger mini tablets in the market. It has a 1.2 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM. This is a great item for people who want to work on the go because you can use Microsoft Office and other productivity programs with this great tablet.

If you need something lightweight and easy to carry around, a mini tablet is great item for you. What do you think about the popularity of the mini tablets?
