Here are links to the best online invitation websites. Try them out and see which one you like the best!

Invitation Services that Use Paypal

Here are the online invitation services that allow guests to pay for events with Paypal.

AnyVite: The fee-per-ticket to use the Anyvite ticketing service is $0.99 plus 2.5% of the ticket price, with a maximum fee-per-ticket of $9.99. The Anyvite fees are completely separate from fees charged by PayPal.

PunchBowl: There is no charge to collect PayPal donations, and you can even do it with a free account.

Sendomatic: Only standard PayPal charges apply.

Is Facebook a Better Evite?

In my own network I've noticed more and more people rely on Facebook to invite people to events. Most people are already signed up for Facebook, and if they're not you can send an invitation to their person's email address.

The big advantage of Facebook is that you don't need to sign up for a new account on a new website. Instead, just use the Facebook account you already have. You can also customize your Facebook event with a picture and location, and your guests can talk to each other in the event's timeline.

The main comment I get about Evite is that it doesn't list the invitation information on the email it sends out.

been using Purple Trail for a few months now and although it looks great I am disappointed in the usability. It is really slow, does not have a bounce back for undelivered emails. Initialy response to questions was very quick but now they take a long time. We have a subscribtion of $29.99 p/a, you would expect better service.

@anonymous: I think madeit.com used to do this, but I just noticed that they seemed to have fallen off the planet. You might try http://cocodot.com/ - I haven't tried it myself, but they do have the ability for you to add your own music, so if you do a voice recording you should be able to upload voice audio as well.

I made a new online (cartoon) wedding invitation site, (www.vidiyan.com) it is in Bahasa Indonesia.

I made very suitable for Indonesian people, but maybe not for another country.

      Thank You.

I'd like to find a system that is fairly easy to use, allows you to keep an address book, handles more than 1000 invites, allows sound embedding (voice or music), has an RSVP that can alphbetize, and allows guests to pay in advance via PayPal....all without charging a high monthly fee.

This is one of the only reviews of e-invite sites I could find on the Internet... Thanks for getting it started. The table could use some additional details and updates. For instance, Pingg's limit is 75 and is not ad free (unless you pay). Guests do not need to register on Pingg to RSVP and event details are in the email. Some sites are limited by geography as well. I am in Canada and Socializr does not work here as it validates the address when entered. Adding a column for International use would be helpful.

I am looking for an evite-like site that allows me to setup events/invites for other people so that *they* can manage them, but I do the legwork. Obviously, it would be silly to give someone *my* login so they can manage their own invite, etc.

The purpose is so that I can include an online evite-like link on the invitations I design for others.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Thanks!!

I'm confused about these "free" e-vites. Whenever I go to a site it appears there will be a cost for the invitation. I'm looking at glosite, pingg, mypunchbowl and evite. I'm not very good at technology. We're doing e-vites for a wedding that's taking place in 4 1/2 weeks so I need to get this done! Help? Suggestions?

@anonymous: Great question. A lot of these services have free versions of their evites and paid versions that are ad free and have more features. Pingg has PinggPlus and Punchbowl has a Plus membership that also gives you ad free ecards. It all ends up boiling down to whether ads are a distraction to your event or not. If you think a vendor ad might take away from your event (like a wedding) you might do better to pay for a membership to one of these sites. Let me know if I can be of any more help.

Another new website for sending and managing online invitations is http://www.EventEve.com Found it extremely good for sending & managing potluck parties. Thanks for the helpful consolidated listing! One question... do guests have to register to RSVP in socializr? It is marked "no" in the above matrix, but I cannot find a way for a guest to RSVP without registering and logging on to socializr. Has this perhaps changed since the listing was created? Thx.

One huge flaw with Evite is that you cannot change your email address or add one once everything is set up. This has been an ongoing problem for over two years and continues to be. Yet their support team quite dishonestly implies that it is just temporary and it will be fixed soon. My email address that I use with Evite is being shut down so I am now hooped. Either I re-enter everything including contacts if I want to continue using Evite or search out a new invitation website. Personally, I am not going to give Evite a second chance if they can't deal with this simple problem right now because I don't want to wind up in the same position again.

@anonymous: To be specific, when you are creating an Invitation in www.EventEve.com, you have to choose the Event Type as 'Public' and there you get the option 'User Response - Required / Not Required' which means display RSVP section / Do not display RSVP section. Hope it helps...

If you want really unique designs, you need to find a niche design site with a style you like. The big sites are just too generic.

Small range by comparison, but great designs.

Does anyone know of a site that disables the "maybe" option? I hate having that option because lots of people can't commit and it makes it really hard to order food for a big party. The site I like most (Pingg) doesn't allow it. Evite allows only to change the "maybe" to something else, but not to eliminate it.

Evite designs are awful and almost no customization is available. They don't know when that option will be available. Their choices are too specific and without customization, it's pretty amateur. Purple Tail customization is much better, although I've had problems with people not receiving the invites.

      Hello.

Have you heard of Kabodler? it is an on-demand event management platform and online software provider that permits you to buy, sell or redeem smart tickets to events that subscribers have listed. These tickets may include digital media and/or a physical promotion.

Smart tickets don't just provide you with entry to an event, they are designed to distribute media, give away promotions and collect valuable data.

Hope you find this useful - to find out more information visit our website at www.kabodler.com

You have to add whoozin.com to all those lists. It's still fairly new but its awesome! So easy to use and it's completely free! Best RSVP Website on the net.

www.organizeok.com much simpler and easier to use and has separate email invitations with RSVP functionality for repeating events, calendar. Also you can copy events. I choose and recommend it.

You forgot to include Greenvelope.com! It's one of the fastest growing digital invitation companies specializing in large events such as weddings and corporate events. You can upload your own template, images, logos, and music! There's RSVP tracking, Google maps integration, calendar integration, and more!

It would like to share one more service - http://www.partylabz.com. It is simple, free, and has no registration what is quite unusual for such kind of services. Bad things with non-registration are: you need to keep link to your edit party page, otherwise you'll need create new event; and also, for each new event you create you need to enter guests from scratch... but I host parties couple times a year so it is not so big deal for me.

Well, features you can find on partylabz are: guests list with email notifications and online RSVP, simple gift registry, and nice web-page for your party. All the features are simple and not overloaded by options so for some people it would be more easily to use than most of described services above.

At the moment it does not have any ads, and I hope it will stay this way or at least they will not put many ads in the future. As for me, I find it quite hard to use services that show too many ads on the same page or after each easy action user does.

Anyone had experience with Whoozin? I just tried to set up an event today and it took SOOO long for everything to load. I'm afraid my guests will run into the same problem. I am planning a memorial service and do not have email addresses to send the e-vite to. Thus I am looking for an online RSPV service that I can just link to. I plan to post the invitation on Caring Bridge, Facebook, and send out some emails. Any suggestions for whether I should continue with Whoozin or try something else with this feature?
