The error is caused by an attempt to activate the product with the activation code intended for use in another region (country). This will happen, for example, if you bought Kaspersky in the Vietnam eStore but you try to install and activate it in the UnitedState.

This error is commonly found in Kaspersky products for home user, for example: Kaspersky Antivirus, Kaspersky Internet Security, Kaspersky Total, Kaspersky Multi Device.

To eliminate this issue, You need to change your IP to another country where it was purchased. And reactivate again.

How to fix "activation code is invalid for this region" error when activating a Kaspersky Lab product?

To fix the error, you need to activate Kaspersky products in country that you have purchased.

If you cannot perform the action, you need to follow one of the two instructions below.

  • Solution #1: Use new license that you can activate in your country. I encourage you to use this solution, it is consistent with the copyright policy of Kaspersky Lab.
  • Solution #2: This guide can help you to activate Kaspersky on your Windows operating system. I do not know if this violates licensing policy. I would recommend you to check with your local Kaspersky distributor.

Soluton #2: Change your IP address (fake your IP)

To eliminate this issue, You need to change your IP to another country where it was purchased. And reactivate again.

a. How to change your IP address?

You can use VPN software to change your ip address. There are a lot of free VPN available – just use one & change your ip address.

In this article, I use Fly VPN to change my ip and fix error.

2. Install FlyVPN Software

You can use FlyVPN without installation. Simply double-click (or right click and select Open) to the FlyVPN setup file and use.

3. How to use FlyVPN to change your ip address

After running the software, the software will ask you to sign into your account.

Username and password, you can look at home page FlyVPN

After you login. You select the country where you buy a Kaspersky license.

For example: You buy licenses in Singapore, you change your IP address to Singapore.

- After using FlyVPN to change your ip address, you check your ip address.

There are many ways to check your address, you can use the software, application check ip on Firefox, Google Chrome. You can also check your IP address online. You access the following website:

http://www.checkip.org/

At the "IP Information", you find the "Country" and check the changes.

To activate Kaspersky succeed, you need to ensure your IP address has changed to the IP address of the country in which you buy Kaspersky.

- Open Kaspersky and activate license again.
