Has anyone here gotten an email giving them an option to switch to a pinterest business account?

If so, did you go ahead and switch and was it beneficial for you.

I never got such an email, and it might be a hoax. I don't think you need to switch to Pinterest, you can just add it to whatever you have. I made my pinterest account because we are slowly renovating our home, so I used it for different ideas. Now, I keep lots of stuff there that I like, such as DIY, crafts, and writing advice. I don't even know if you can make money out of Pinterest. I just made mine for personal usefulness.

hi grand old lady, I just set mine up for personal reasons too and I post the occasional hub on to it.  I don't have my own online business so I had no reason to switch over. So I was surprised to get a notification with an option to switch.

I use Pinterest business so that I can access the analytics. You need to upload a piece of HTML to your website server to verify your site. Once your site is verified, your pins will appear higher in searches than those that are not verified. So... if you are using it as an online marketing tool, Pinterest Business is a great tool. The analytics will tell you what your most popular pins are, how many people pinned directly through your website and so on. I never received an email so I'm not sure if that is legit. But, you can easily switch your pinterest account if needed. By the way - I do not pay a fee for using their tools.

Hi dappledesigns, that's really useful, and not something I knew. I hadn't realised there would be a benefit to changing it over so thanks for passing that on to me.

You are welcome sangre. I forgot to mention that I have a personal account on Pinterest but I have do not have a business, so I do not need the other account.
