How to build a website fast

Updated on January 31, 2015

It could take you less than 5 minutes to build a website

Building a website is easier than you might think. Websites are programmed or coded with something called hypertext markup language, also known as HTML. But donât let that scare you. Just about anybody can build a website in about 5 minutes--if you build a website with WordPress.

There are a few basic steps to building a website fast:

-Register a domain name

-Purchase a web hosting plan

-Install WordPress as your Content Management System

-Pat yourself on the back

You donât need to know any complex programming languages or a degree in the computer sciences. The world of websites has come a long way since Al Gore invented it all those years ago. These days, the experience of building a basic website from scratch feels more like buying something online than it feels like building anything.

Just do Google Search for Web Hosts and select one of the top hosts. Most likely they will have a turnkey product dashboard that will let you buy your domain, hosting package and install WordPress in just a few moments.

If you are relatively digital-savvy, and you want to build your own website, just find a web host like Godaddy.com or Bluehost.com and get started.

If you are the kind of person who would like a little more information before you start, a great place to start is with the book:

How to Build a Website and Publish Your First Page in Less Than 5 Minutes, written by Al Ulrich and available on Amazon Kindle.

In summary, it doesn't have to be a long, drawn out, technical process to build a website from scratch. You should be able to build a website fast if you follow the step-by-step instructions available in How to Build a Website and Publish Your First Page in Less Than 5 Minutes, by Al Ulrich
