iPhone 4 alternatives worth considering

Updated on June 13, 2010

Apple has launched its much awaited smart phone iPhone with OS4 and Apple boasts saying its the best mobile operating system in the world. iPhone 4G has really some cool features compared to its earlier versions and big one being multi tasking. But if you wanted to know if there are any alternatives to the iPhone 4G. Please go on and read this article.

I found 4 smart phone from Nokia,HTC and Samsung which can compete with iPhone 4G features.

Google Nexus One/ HTC Desire:

These 2 mobile is manufactured by HTC. The Nexus One is powered by Google and the HTC Desire has customization over the same Android Operating system. Nexus has track ball just like black berry while the Desire has an optical track pad. Both of these mobiles have larger capacitive AMOLED screen which delivers vibrant color reproduction. Its resolution is 800 X 480 pixel, little lesser than the iPhone 4G whose resolution is 940X640. Nexus one is currently available with Android OS 2.1 but it can be upgraded to the latest version of Andriod 2.2 OS.

These 2 mobiles are with micro SD card slot and can have more storage than iPhone 4's 32 GB space. These mobiles have a cool feature to allow you to transfer files to other bluetooth device which is not offered even by iPhone 4. It shoots videos at 720 X 480 little lesser to iPhone 4's 1280 X 720 videos.

Nokia N8

Nokia's N8 model with its aluminium case would protect it in case you drop it. This model runs on Symbian 3 OS and with AMOLED capacitive screen. The amazing feature of N8 is 12 Mega pixel camera with a Xenon Flash wih usually comes with a digital camera. It does HD video recording 720P just similar to iPhone 4. This can be hooked up with LCD HDTV. N8 comes with a TV-out support via HDMI. This model comes in many colours where as iPhone 4 is available only in 2 colours white and Black.

Samsung Galaxy S i9000

Samsung galaxy S i9000 runs on Android OS with 4 inch large AMOLED screen with resolution of 480X800 and is claimed to have 20% more brightness, 20% less power consumption and 80% less sunshine reflection. It has 8/16 GB internal storage capacity and also with a micro SD slot. It not only plays standard definition DivX/XviD videos, but can play 720p videos with no format conversion or down scaling. The 5 mega pixel camera can shoot 720p videos too at a rate of 30 frames per second. ( It is same as that of iPhone 4).

HTC EVO 4G is a CDMA phone with support for WiMax which is a next generation wirless technology that is referred as 4G. Sprint, the seller of this CDMA phone says it can hit upto 10Mbps which is enough to stream HD videos on the phone. This comes with a 8 Mega pixel camera at the back and 1.3 mega pixel camera at the front. This mobile support CDMA dual band and so can not be used in India currently as mobiles with tri-band or quart-band phones are only supported in India.
