Best iPhone Apps That Give You Money or Rewards

Updated on January 14, 2018

What to know before you start.

There are many apps out there that will give you money when you take surveys, clips coupons, shop at specific stores or watch videos. In order to take advantage of many of these apps you will need to set up a PayPal account. PayPal is basically a virtual "bank" where money gets transferred into an account. Once the money is deposited you can then transfer it to your bank account or simply use it to pay for transactions to your favorite retailers that accept PayPal. All you need is an email address to get started.

Once you have a PayPal account get ready to start earning cash! Most apps will deposit money into a PayPal account, while there are still a few that will actually mail out a check. While you won't make a ton of money from any one app you will likely make a decent amount when you pool your returns together on PayPal. So for example you may get $10 from one app and $20 from another and together you have $30 in your PayPal. You will be surprised at how quickly your PayPal account accumulates cash.

Apps that pay cash...

AppTrailers - Watch videos to earn cash! You can also upload your own videos and when people watch them you earn points. Trade your points in for PayPal cash or for other cool rewards such as gift cards to your favorite retailer.

Ibotta - This is actually a coupon app. The way it works is you select the grocery store you are going to. You click to "unlock" certain things you plan to buy. Once you purchase these items from the store you scan the bar code and then submit the receipt. Money will then be deposited into your account. You can deposit money into your PayPal or purchase gift cards. This app is fun because if you have friends that use it you can earn extra money back for team bonuses or for other fun bonus activities. If you join please use my referral code: nxfbsw

Checkout 51 - This is another coupon app. It gives you back money for purchasing items listed in the app. I love the weekly "pick your own" offers for fruits and vegetables. This app will send you a check when you reach $20. I just got another one in the mail. Super easy to use. Just scan the bar code after purchase and submit the receipt.

SavingStar - Another super easy coupon app. I love this one because it links to your store loyalty cards, so that makes it really easy to use. All you have to do is select the offers you are interested in and then when you purchase them with the loyalty card the money gets deposited into your account. This app allows for deposits into a bank account, PayPal or you can select from a couple of gift cards as well.

Receipt Hog- Snap pictures of your store receipts and earn coins! Points are then converted into cash via PayPal or gift cards. Some receipts qualify for a spin on the slot machine to earn extra coins.

Swagbucks: Shop, watch videos, take surveys and enter bonus codes to earn points. Points can then be traded in for money into your PayPal account or lots of different types of gift cards. You can also earn for referrals.

Ebates - Get paid when you shop online! Yup you heard me right. Shop at the retailers you usually shop at by clicking the unique link in the app and earn a certain percentage for your purchase. So for example if I am ordering from Groupon I would first go to the Ebates app and search for Groupon. Then click on the provided link. It will tell you the percentage you earn for your purchase. So if you spend $100 and the percentage was 10% cash back then you will get $10 back from Ebates. It really is that easy! If you shop a lot online this is a must have. Every quarter Ebates will deposit the money into your PayPal account or if you like you can request a check. You get $25 for each referral too! Sign up with my referral link and you will receive a $10 gift card when you sign up.

Apps that reward you with gift cards:

Viggle - Get rewards for watching TV! Yup, using the app log into the show you are watching and start earning Perk Points. Points are then used to get great apps. This app is part of the Perk Points group of apps so points from other "Perk" apps are combined.

CheckPoints - Get points for watching videos, shopping, checking into stores, and more. Super easy to earn points and fun too! If you sign up please use my bonus code so I get points too! My bonus code is: savenlivess

Perk TV & Perk TV Live - Earn points for watching TV and/or videos. Points are turned in for gift cards from LOTS of retailers. A huge array to chose from with the Perk rewards apps.

Receipt Pal - Save those receipts from all your shopping trips! In this app you photograph the receipt and earn points. Points are traded in for gift cards. Super simple to use. I also love that this app will take email receipts. You just simply forward them to their email address and you will be credited for those receipts too.

Fetch Rewards - Another awesome coupon app. This app gives you points for shopping at any grocery, convenience and club store. On top of that, you get bonus points for shopping certain brands. They also have special offers that can yeild up to a 1000 point bonus for buying certain brands. Trade your points in for tons of different gift cards including Amazon, iTunes, Best Buy, and loads more! I love this app because the points add up really fast. If you sign up please use my referral code: P5XXM If you sign up with this code we BOTH get 1500 bonus points!
