iPods for Mood Management

Updated on August 1, 2010

Ever been told to change your mood, adjust your attitude, or manage your mindset?

If so, think:

Then think:

One solution to effectively manage one's mood comes in the form of a small electronic device that easily fits in a pocket or on a belt. Yes, it's your trusty little iPod or other portable media gizmo that can store plenty of mood-altering tunes.

The benefits of listening to music cannot be overstated. It can soothe the soul, quiet the mind, lift the spirits, energize the body, and/or provide a brief escape from reality. Tuning into favorite recording artists can run the gamut from smooth jazz to happening hip hop.

For me, listening to the dulcet tones of Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Anne Murray, Nat King Cole, Neil Diamond, James Taylor, Liza Minnelli, and Barry Manilow, to name a few, helps to keep me centered and productive throughout the day. The stored songs and downloaded instrumentals lift me up, bring back fond memories, take me to faraway places, and just help me reconnect with myself to stay grounded. The result is an intense sense of harmony and balance.

So, pump up the beat! The iPod is almost like the Apple® answer to Prozac®.
