Locate a Mobile Phone Via GPS

Updated on September 20, 2014

Locate a Mobile Phone | Is it possible?

It is possible to locate a mobile phone with the technology available today but there are some simple tricks that you can try first if you have misplaced your precious cell phone.

I'm one of the many who is constantly misplacing my cell phone. I would wager that millions of individuals do this very thing every day. Some do it several times a day. Some misplace their cell phone and never find it again. Some phones are stolen.

It depends on what exactly has happened to your phone as to whether or not you'll can successfully locate mobile phone.

I suggest you follow the tips that I have outlined for you below. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones who can track your cell phone down.

Idea # 1

The very first thing I would do to try and locate a cell phone is to dial the number. I can't tell you how many times, I've misplaced the darn thing to later find it under a couch cushion, under a car seat, or once even in the microwave.

Dial the number from another phone and listen carefully. If your battery is charged and the phone is in an area that has service, you'll likely find it. That's if it is within hearing distance.

Sometimes I have had to ask several people to listen for it. One time at work I had to ask my tell my co workers about my plan and a person on the first floor of our building found it under a stack of paperwork.

Another thing to try is to turn off the lights. Some cell phones blink lights when they ring. I found mine by turning out all of the lights in the house at night and dialing the number. My phone happened to be on silent mode because I forgot to change it after a meeting that I had during the day. I found the phone when it started blinking after I dialed the number. It was on top of a pile of dirty laundry.

It's possible that someone will actually answer it. One time my phone fell out of the car while I was shopping. A kind customer turned it into the store lost and found. When I dialed the number, an employee at the customer service desk answered it and told me where I could come and get it from. Dialing the number is an easy and often effective way to locate mobile phone s.

Idea # 2

This one may seem very strange to you but it often works. Are you ready for this amazing tip? Okay, here it is! Stop looking for it. That's right, you heard me. Sometimes when you are really racking your brain trying to find something, you will become stressed and your brain won't function as clearly.

Chances are that you actually remember when your phone is but you're mind is just holding out on you. Many times I have stopped looking for something and proceeded to do something else. Minutes or hours later I have been pleasantly surprised when all of a sudden I remember that I last used my phone on the patio, or in a friends car.

Give you mind a break and stop trying to locate your mobile phone for a minute or two. You might be pleasantly surprised when you suddenly remember where your phone is.

Idea # 3

This idea involves networking. You want to get the word out that your phone is missing. Talk to your family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. Make phone calls to places that you have been. If you spent the morning in the doctors office, call them up and let them know that you are looking for it. Maybe they have it at the front desk.

Send out an email to people that you know. Think of this as fishing. The more hooks that you have in the water, the more likely you are to catch a fish. Tell as many people as you can think of. The worst that can happen is that you won't find your phone. The best case scenario is that you'll find it quickly.

Don't forget this step. In many cases, people find cell phones but don't know who they belong to.
