How To Set | Make Google as My Homepage in Firefox and other browsers?

Setting Google as My Homepage

Today Google has the dominated the position of worlds most popular website. After I set Google as my homepage I would  be able to access all the other services of Google in a single window soon after I open my window.Now we also have an option as igoogle homepage. This is a personalized version of Google page according to the users taste and then setting it as their home page. This is how I can set Google as my homepage in Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer.

Steps To Set Google as my homepage in Firefox

Step 1 - Select "Options"

Set Google as my homepage in Firefox


  1. Click the Tools menu in the browser.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the Startup section, select "Show my home page" in the "When Firefox starts" drop-down.
  5. Enter http://www.google.com in the "Home Page" text box.
  6. Click OK.

Firefox usually opens with Google search engine decorated with their ads as my default homepage. But it doesn’t have the beauty of original, simple Google homepage. After I set Google as homepage I can also set the previous default homepage of Firefox by the following steps.

1.      Click the Tools menu in the browser.

2.      Select Options.

3.      Click the General tab.

4.      In the Startup section, select "Show my home page" in the "When Firefox starts" drop-down.

5.      Click on “Restore To Default

6.      Click OK.

Step 1 - Select the Tools Menu

  1. Click the Tools menu in the browser.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the Home page section, enter http://www.google.com in the text box.
  5. Click OK.

The default home page in Internet Explorer would be MSN. It is a beautiful page, yet not as powerful as Google Homepage. Anyhow after I set Google as my homepage if I ever want to set back msn then I could do it easily:

  1. Click the Tools menu in the browser.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Click Use Default In the Home page section.
  5. Click OK.

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Basics tab.
  4. In the "Home page" section, set your home page:
  • You can use the New Tab page, which is pre-populated with links to your most visited sites, as well as recently closed tabs and windows. To use this page as your home page, select "Use the New Tab page."
  • To use a different webpage, select "Open this page," then enters the web address of the page you want to use.

To add a home button to the browser toolbar, select the "Show Home button" checkbox.To see your home page every time you open Google Chrome, select "Open the home page" in the "On startup" section.Click Close.

Set Any Page as Homepage


Do you wish to set any page as your homepage? It’s also quite easy.First browse into the page want to set as your home page. Then just do the following according to your browser type.

Internet Explorer

  1. Click the Tools menu in the browser.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the Home page section, click ‘Use Current’.
  5. Click OK.

Firefox

1.      Click the Tools menu in the browser.

2.      Select Options.

3.      Click the General tab.

4.      In the Startup section, select "Show my home page" in the "When Firefox starts" drop-down.

5.      Click on “Use Current Page

6.      Click OK.

Now I am all set and ready to set my homepage as any website.
