Hosting your Mobile Site
Individuals are building and developing mobile sites on local computer, but sooner or later they will need to host it on the Internet. Hosting a mobile site is the same process of placing the files and graphics on a Web Server that normally applies to a common web site.
The web server is often hosted by a hosting provider, (GoDaddy). Some providers are free, but generally most of the more reliable ones charge a fee for their services. Fortunately, intense competition has driven down the monthly fees to be the equivalent of three or four cups of coffee.
Choosing a web hosting provider should not be very difficult. If you already have a regular Web site, you can use that provider, and if you do not, you can just go out and choose a hosting provider that fits you budget and site needs.
Before you sign up or register with any web host provider be sure to ask customer service if they host mobile sites. Some one there can tell you how to make sure that your mobile site address will be pointing to the right site.
At times with any web host provider that you select, you might get a free domain name for your mobile site. This free service will probably expire after one year of commitment. But if you have your own domain from another company, just let your new web host provider know.
You need your own web site for the same reasons you need your own domain name. You also need to be building and branding your own business and Web site. If the process sounds too hard, remember that most hosting providers sell domains, and most domain registrars offer hosting, so you can probably get the whole thing set up in just one place.
