My favorite Christian iPad covers and cases
Best Christian iPad Cases
Protect your investment with a cover or a case. Plain monochrome ones do that just fine, but as a Christian, why not use that space to make a statement about who rules in your life?
In our daily lives, many of us use our iPhones, etc., as inspirations and reminders by whose grace we're all here to begin with, who is really in charge. You can do that and still let it reflect your own personal style.
Why a Christian Themed Case?
Jesus told us to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them. The disciple, baptizing and teaching parts come from our faith and how it plays out in our daily lives, how we interact with other people. Jesus was all about relationships.
The go part is the one about making connections. With a Christian themed tablet or phone case, cover, T-shirt or whatever, you have instantly identified yourself as a believer. Other Christians won't have to go through the small talk exercise with you. You will be connected right away.
Whether they are effective in making disciples of non-believers is more questionable. Either way, when two or three are gathered in Jesus' name, He is there with them. God loves worship. There should be no reason for not owning one.
My Personal Favorite
We all know how Christians have been persecuted throughout history. Sometimes they even persecuted each other. That's not much of a surprise.
What you may not know is that the persecution is continuing in many countries around the world to this day. Some say it even happens right here at home. Start the conversation. Shine the light. The secret to get them talking is to be provocative but not offensive.
Are you being provoked?
This is a hard shell. It protects the back and sides but still allows you to access all controls and outlets. It also works with the Smart Cover.
Which Model do you have?
Except for the iPad 2 and 3, the various models have different dimensions, so you will need different covers or cases depending on the model. Apple doesn't exactly flaunt their model numbers, but if you know where to look, it is not that hard to find.
Turn it over and look at the bottom of the case. Below the logo is some fine print including the word "Model." Right after that you will find a five character number starting with the letter A followed by four digits.
Once you have the model number, head over to Apple's model identifying page and look up the model you have - or you can just look in the next paragraph.
Currently, the models are as follows:
- iPad Air 2 - A1566, A1567
- iPad Air - A1474, A1475, A1476
- iPad mini 3 - A1599, A1600
- iPad mini 2 - A1489, A1490, A1491
- iPad mini - A1432, A1454, A1455
- iPad 4th generation - A1458, A1459, A1460
- iPad 3rd generation - A1403, A1430, A1416
- iPad 2 - A1397, A1396
- iPad 1 - A1337, A1219
Case, Cover or Folio?
What's the Difference?
There is quite a bit of confusion about the terminology between the various vendors, so be sure to study the descriptions carefully to get the exact type that will meet your specific needs.
Generally speaking, however, covers are just that, covers. They leave the back of the tablet exposed while protecting the vulnerable screen.
Some cases surround it completely on all sides. Others leave the front exposed. Some even offer protection from drops. When they do, look for a rating telling you exactly how much protection is offered. Yes, you can go rock climbing with it. That kind of protection does come at a cost, though. They do add serious bulk to your slim iPad.
Some folios include a super slim keyboard.
Either way, you will want it to meet your specific needs. What kind of protection do you need?
I hope this video will help you make the right choice for you. Notice how some do double duty as stands for a variety of viewing options.
iPad Air - The latest and most advanced model yet
There are now two models, Air and Air 2. The Air 2 is slightly thinner than than the Air, so be sure to look for that in any product description you see.
A kind of rubber that makes it feel a lot like velvet and it's light weight.
There are now three minis, mini, mini 2 and mini 3. All three have the same dimensions, so any mini cover or case should fit on any mini.
iPad 4 - 4th Generation with Retina Display

iPad 2 and 3
The and iPad 2 and iPad 3 are discontinued.
