7 Great Pink Laptops
In this day and age, laptops are no longer just for the business professional. Everyone from students to grandmothers can find a use for a light and portable laptop computer. If you're like me, you want a laptop that is not only useful and practical, but one that's also stylish and cute. In the quest for a great laptop for myself, I compiled a comparison guide of the best pink laptops on the market. Of course, all of the notebooks below can be customized to an extent, so the prices and specs will change depending on your specific needs. This should give you a pretty good idea of what's out there, though, and which one would best meet your personal needs.
1. Asus Eee PC - $375.00
This ultra light, portable computer weighs in at only 2.0 lbs, making it one of the lightest pink laptops you will find on the market. It comes equipped with a 2 GB solid state hard drive. The benefits of a solid state disk are that the battery will last longer, it will make less noise, and you are less likely to lose data if you accidentally drop it. (Ooops!) The 800 mhz Intel Celeron Processor will not be as zippy or powerful as the more popular Core 2 Duo, but that's the exchange you make for such a light and small computer. The Asus has a very small 7" screen, 512 Mb RAM, wireless, an SD memory card slot, and is a very cute blush pink. (It does come in other colors as well, but pink is my favorite!) The software package included is all open source software like the Linux OS and Open Office. The battery lasts a repectable 2.8 hours, but don't expect to be watching movies or playiing graphic intensive games on this notebook. It comes with a 1 year warranty, and at the low price of under $400 this is a great buy for a student or anyone who just wants a light computer that they can take anywhere to access email, create documents, and store pictures.
2.Q2 Designs 15.4" Intel Celeron Notebook Computer in Fusion Pink - $879.99
This hot pink laptop has a 15.4" screen, a 120 GB hard drive, 1024 MB RAM, and a 1.86 Ghz Intel Celeron 540 Processor. All the basics that most people need are here, like an SD memory card reader, built in webcam, wireless LAN, DVD RW, and the Windows Vista Home Basic Software. The processor won't be quite as fast as some of the other laptops below, but unless you're planning to really multi-task or play a video game, it will still be plenty fast for you. This computer can be upgraded to a 250 GB hardrive with a 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, but you'll end up paying at least an extra $200 for those upgrades. The main drawbacks I see are that it weighs a whopping 7 lbs., which is not exactly a beast, but it isn't super light either, and with it's larger screen the battery is likely to only last a couple of hours tops. This is one of the only affordable hot pink laptops I've seen on the market, though, so if it's your favorite color, this is the perfect laptop for you!
3. Dell Inspiron 1525 in Pink Flamingo - $879.99
Dell is a brand that is very well known and trusted, so if you are looking for good support, this could be your best bet. The Dell Inspiron 1525 has a 15.4" Wide Screen with true life, an Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 processor at 1.66 ghz. Windows Vista Home Premium is preloaded onto the laptop, and it has a large 250 GB hard drive with 1 GB RAM. As seems to be the standard, the Dell also has Intel Intergrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, a DVD RW, and a 4 in 1 Media card writer. At 5.9 lbs. this is a medium weight laptop, but is really not too heavy considering its larger screen size. This is the successor to the Inspiron 1520 and Dell did a great job slimming it down and giving it a sleeker, lighter body. Also, for a 15.4" screen, this laptop is relatively power efficient, with users reporting up to three and a half hours of battery life on a balanced power setting. As with a lot of Dell computers, you can customize this laptop like crazy, adding on almost anything you want or need, for a price. The good news is that you can often find good sales and deals on Dell computers.
4. Q2 Designs 12.1" Intel Core Duo T2390 Notebook - $929.99
Also from the Q2 Designs team comes this smaller 12.1" pink laptop. It comes with Vista Home Premium installed, has a 120 GB Hard drive, 1 GB memory, and has a 1.86 Ghz Intel Core Duo T2390 processor. The Core Duo processor is the predecessor to the more recent Core 2 Duo, so it is not quite as fast or as power efficient. This laptop has the same basics as the previous laptop with its card reader, webcam, wireless connectivity, and DVD burner. A couple of things that make this laptop just a bit better are its Integrated Intel x3100 graphics accelerator and it's more portable 4.5 lbs. The battery in this laptop will last a bit longer than in the previous Q2 computer, however, and some gaming and other graphic intensive applications will be possible here.
5. ZT Affinity 12.1" Core 2 Duo T5450 - $949.99
For around the same price as the previous computer, you can get the power efficiency and speed of the 1.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor in this ZT Affinity laptop computer. Loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium and 2 GB RAM, this laptop features a Super-multi DVD RW, webcam, 4 in 1 memory card reader, wireless LAN, and a 160 GB hard drive. The ZT Affinity weighs only 4.5 lbs, making it easy to carry around if you are a student or are planning to take your computer with you when you travel or write. Another very cool feature is the fingerprint reader, which adds an extra level of security to your laptop. Like the previous laptop, it comes with the Intel Graphics Accelerator X3100, so it should be able to handle some basic graphics gaming and deliver beautiful pictures and clear movies. One possible drawback is the relatively unknown name of the manufacturer. Dell or Sony might be able to provide more support if that's what you're looking for. All in all, however, for the price, this is an excellent deal.
6. Sony Vaio VGN - CR520E/P - $1149.99
This beautiful 14.1" Sony Vaio laptop has a 2.1 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 processor, a huge 320 GB hard drive, and 3 GB RAM. Can you tell that I'm a little partial to this laptop? After months of comparing different laptops and seeking them out so that I could feel the keyboards and the weight, this Sony Vaio was my ultimate pick, and I have never regretted my decision to buy it. Loaded with Vista Home Premium, this super fast computer also has the standard Intel X3100 graphics, a 4 in 1 memory card reader, webcam, DVD RW, and weighs around 5.49 lbs with the battery. Another useful feature is the AV mode which allows you to quickly watch movies or view pictures without waiting for the entire operating system to load. The widescreen display uses XBRITE technology, delivering crisp and bright images. Online, it says that this laptop has a 2 - 4.5 hour battery life, depending on what you are doing during that time. I can tell you from personal experience that on power saver mode, I can create documents on my word processor with the battery lasting for almost 5 hours. Using wireless internet, the battery life goes down to about 3.5 hours. I believe you can get a version of this laptop with a smaller hard drive and slightly slower processor for less than $1000. One thing I love is the sleek silver keyboard encased in the pink case. I can play online games and do just about anything I need on this laptop, so I would highly recommend it.
7. Flybook V5 Business Intel Core 2 Duo ULV U7600 1.2 Ghz Notebook in Pink - $2599.99
With a price tag like this, you know this has to be a cutting edge laptop, and I just wanted to throw it in there to show you a higher tier of business laptops. The Flybook V5 has a 1.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor ULV (Solid State Disk is available, but perhaps a bit more pricey). The ULV on the end there means "Ultra Low Voltage", meaning that this laptop will get great battery life and will have a nice fast speed. The ultimate in connectivity options, this laptop features wirelss Lan, bluetooth, and wireless WAN (cellular accessiblity) as well as the old standard 56 K modem. A SunLight Readable screen makes it easy to see what's on the screen if you want to take your laptop out in the sun to get some work done. Vista Business is loaded onto the 80 GB hard drive, and the Flybook comes with 2GB RAM. Weighing on 2.6 lbs, this ultra portable pink laptop has a magnesium alloy cover, making it super light and durable. Security features include a fingerprint reader and a built in locator that allows customer service to find your laptop if it is stolen. Another great feature of this laptop is that it has a touch screen that you can write on with a stylus, just like it was a notepad. Certainly, this is not the type of laptop that your basic computer user would need, but if you are in need of something with a lot of power and portability, or you are looking for the cutting edge of mobile technology the Flybook V5 can deliver with style.
