The key feature of a CD player with detachable speakers is versatility. You can take this player when you travel, to a party, or anywhere you go. The ever-popular JVC RV-NB70B Kaboom has been updated with more power, but retains the techno-cool cylindrical design with a woofer at each end. Excellent bass low-frequency performance produces glass-rattling energy for all your favorite music. The updated interfaces include a dock for those "i" devices and a USB port for any USB-compatible mass storage device. Unique bonus inputs for guitar and microphone, with on-board mixer. The JVC CD Player is a full-featured system - the CD player can handle MP3 and WMA file playback, and there's even an FM radio tuner. The included remote control gives this boombox the luxury of convenience, but it's still easy to carry using the attached shoulder strap.

If your little ones enjoy singing, the Sing Along Portable CD Player may be exactly what you're looking for. Rugged, kid-friendly, with great sound quality - this unit has it all. With the pair of attached microphones, your kids can sing alone or along with their favorite CD. Features include anti-skip protection, LCD display, headphone jacks, and more. This portable CD player will quickly become one of your child's favorite playtime choices.

Reviewers noted good sound quality, durability, and ease of use. A "hold" button locks the controls if desired. The unit consumes batteries fairly quickly with heavy use, and some reviewers purchased 3rd-party AC adapters to eliminate this problem. The CD player itself has a volume control, but not the microphones. So if your little singers are enthusiastic about their music, be forewarned.

The video below is a good example of both the sound quality of the Sing Along Portable CD Player and excitement you can expect when you get it home.

Thank you for this. I really need a good CD player, mine does not work properly. Thanks for the selection. I always think I do not need it since I can play in my computer, but a portable cd player can become more useful., being able to take everywhere.

@lovetolink: Glad you found the information useful. I have so many CDs and continue to buy them for the same reason you mentioned. I prefer reading "real" books, too!

Thanks for this lens! I have an iPod player but I want to buy one that can also play CDs. These options will help me in my research. There's just something about being able to hold a CD, look at the album cover and read the lyrics! But I also still have a record player & vinyl :D

I have the old JVC kaboom box which I've been using in my music class for about 6 years now. Great product.

@Bill Armstrong: I agree. But if you have a large CD collection (like I do), a CD player makes those songs available until the disk wears out. ;o)

Nice lens, like the layout and products, unfortunately the CD I believe will have disappeared in a few more years, even Apple's new iMac does not have a CD/DVD Player as most movies/music/programs etc are downloaded direct now.

I haven't looked at the portable MP3 chargers/players in awhile and still stuck using the old style ones that first came out. Wow! They've really got some much better looking choices available today!
