Top 10 Laptops 2013

Updated on June 11, 2013

Are you looking for cool Laptops to buy in 2013?

With the fast rate at which technology is evolving it is becoming increasing difficult to choose a laptop that suits your need among several options. When choosing a notebook consumers usually consider the size, battery life, speakers, webcam and hard drive.

Shop for The best laptops here

Some products have met this criteria more than the others. It is for this reason that this lens provides the latest rankings of the top laptops in 2013.

10. HP Envy 6 Sleekbook

With an exceptional battery life of almost 9 hours, HP Envy 6 ultra slim notebook boasts of one of the best batteries suitable for office work. This laptop is also loaded with an AMD Radeon HD 7500G dedicated 3D card and an AMD-trinity processor making it a very good option for video gamers in terms of graphics. Watching videos and photo editing are both sleeklier using this laptop.

9. Toshiba Satellite L855-148

Toshiba has also made its place in the best laptops as it is powered by Intel’s latest i7 processor and is as a matter of fact an excellent replacement for the high performance desktop computers. It also boasts of an AMD Raedon HD 7670M graphics chipset and a high resolution that accounts for the perfect HD display.

The only draw back of this laptop is the amount of power it sucks up to function. Under light usage a fully charged Toshiba Satellite L855-148 lasts 4 hours and 9 minutes, a far-cry of the 5 hours battery life excepted of a smart notebook computer.

8. Asus K55VD

This laptop has a superb HD graphics that makes up for the absence of a touchscreen and a very powerful micro processor, and has left everyone longing to own it. It is loaded with NVidia Geforce 610M chipset graphics card making it very suitable for gaming and video editing. Its RAM is 4GB built in, but it can be doubled as it comes with an extra memory slot.

However, the battery life of this laptop is poor. It clocked a paltry 4 hours, 15 minutes in the light use battery test. This product is still worth the money.

7. Asus VivoBook S200

Asus VivoBook S200 is a low price and fancy touch screen laptop. The specs that are found in this laptop is remarkable and is the reason it made it to this list. it is portable, sleek and has windows 8 operating system. You will not get a better laptop with such great specs in such a low price.

A major drawback with touchscreens is that they easily become covered in fingerprints. The dim screen of the S200's makes matters worst. A sleek designed, Intel-powered, touchscreen Windows 8 laptop for just 400 - great deal.

6. HP Envy 14 Spectre

This laptop stands out for its hot and stylish design. Hp Envy 14 Spectre boasts of a 14 inches solid display screen with a 1600 x 900 pixels display capability. It is powered with 1.6 GHz Intel i5 processor and a RAM of 4GB.

The battery of this laptop lasts for 4 hours 45 minutes while surfing the internet.

5. Apple Macbook Air

Despite being released in 2008, Macbook Air is surprisingly among the top 10 best laptops of 2013. It has remained the fan’s favorite probably because of the Apple tag. It comes with an Intel’s i5 processor and 4 GB Ram. With the option of either a 133 inches or an 11.6 inches available to users, this machine is extremely portable and reliable.

4. Apple Macbook Pro

Apple Macbook Pro is another solid product from Apple. Like the Apple Macbook Air it has maintained a spot among the best laptops for years. It comes with a retina display and it is extremely slim and amazingly light weight. Macbook pro comes with a dedicated nVidia card and a very good battery.

The downside of this PC is that when the system is hot you can really feel it( this is not what you want if you are the type that places your netbook on your laps). Also, it has poor windows driver support.

3. Asus ZenBook Prime

Zenbook Prime is an ultra light PC by Asus. The battery life is 7 hours when fully charged (and the computer is in an idle state) and it has an Intel’s i7 processor. The machine has an excellent display and viewing angles.

The battery can go up to 4 hours 20 minutes while surfing the internet. The price of this laptop is on the high side considering the fact that it doesn't have a touch screen to take full advantage of the windows 8 operating system.

2. Dell XPS 12

The Dell XPS 12 is a thin, powerful, very cleverly designed touch-screen laptop-table hybrid -convertible that flips into multiple screen positions. it comes with a core i7 processor and supports 1080p.

Its battery life is on the low side. it runs 3 hours 29 minutes under heavy usage( this should nit be confused with light usage). Ultimately, this is a great laptop. But like a most convertibles, it makes a better laptop than a tablet.

1. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 carbon is an awesome laptop. It has high battery life and excellent performance. The sleek and professional design, and amazing hardware packaging are sensational. it is very worthy of the top spot on the list of the top laptops in 2013.
