The latest Alienware gaming laptop

The perfect most powerful gaming laptop as of New Year 2013

1. Alienware M17x R4-7263BK

Dell Alienware M17X R4 AM17xR4-7263BK 2.70-3.70GHz i7-3820QM 16GB 1.5TB 7200RPM 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7970M BD-ROM

There is no doubt that Alienware is considered to be the top gaming laptop brand on the market, and it is products like the Alienware M17x R4-7263BK that shows gaming enthusiasts exactly why. With the 120Hz LCD display, gamers might as well be standing inside the gaming world. The 7970M Radeon graphics card is considered to be one of the best, if not the best, graphics card in the industry. The only problem that gamers have is the fact that the laptop has only 2GB video memory. Still, the benefits of the high quality display, the graphics and the incredibly fast cooling capabilities of this machine make it the no. 1 choice for gamers around the world.

MSI Computer Corp. Notebook Computer GT70 0ND-219US;9S7-176212-219 17.3-Inch Laptop

MIS might not be as big of a name in the gaming industry as Alienware, but this might change thanks to the MSI GT70. The laptop comes with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card, as well as 12GB of RAM. This means that gamers can play just about any game on the market with pristine graphics. The Blu-ray player which is included in the laptop is another pro; something that all high quality laptops are incorporating into their machinery these days. All-in-all, this machine is certainly building a name for itself in the gaming industry; if only the company would focus on improving its customer support, gamers couldn’t ask for much more.

ASUS Republic of Gamers G75VW-AS71 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop

This new device by Asus is quickly getting a reputation of having the functionality of a desktop, with all of the lightweight benefits of a laptop. With 16GM of RAM, an NVIDIA graphics card and a state-of-the-art processor, it is a high quality machine for those that are not willing to spend quite as much as on the Alienware laptops. One of the only problems that gamers have had with the device is the fact that the sound system on the laptop isn't all that great; the built-in speakers do not yet have the advanced functionality to emit clear vocals when the gamer is listening to music at the same time.

NP7282-S1

SAGER

NP9270

The specs for SAGER NP9270, FALCON NORTHWEST DRX and ORIGIN PC EON17 are all rebranded version of Clevo X7200. But personally, I listed SAGER NP9270 as my first choice because it's processor is the most powerful one up to now, cheaper and offer higher volume for hard disk which is 2.25TB - Hybrid Hard Drive! Besides, the base specs is also much more attractive compare to base specs for Falcon DRX , EON17 and Alienware M18X. Please noted that graphic card in the base specs is single and not SLI Enabled.

$2899.00 (Base configuration)

Falcon Northwest DRX
Falcon Northwest DRX

FALCON NORTHWEST

DRX

If you prefer both stylish and performance gaming laptop, go for Falcon Northwest DRX! The amazing thing about this model is their artists can create or re-create almost anything that you can dream, from simple company logos to hand-airbrushed, completely original works of art for you. You can have your very own design of laptop's lid! The cons about this model is the base specs is way much expensive and have lower performance compare to SAGER NP9270. Besides, this laptop isn't very portable. It is too heavy and the battery doesn't last long, which is only 45 minutes when the unit is unplugged. Audio also seems to be an afterthought. While building the DRX, the customer doesn't have the choice of customizing the audio and the company doesn't even specify what brand of audio it uses. This can be a big problem for gamers who like their sound effects crystal clear or if they like to listen to music while gaming. External speakers would solve this problem, of course, but, once again, that would hamper the laptop's portability.

Origin EON17
Origin EON17

ORIGIN PC

EON17

There's no mistaking Origin PC's new EON17 notebook for exactly what it is: a full-on desktop replacement with more bells and whistles than, well, a bells and whistles store. Believe it or not, the 17.3-inch HD screen (1920x1080) is probably the tamest feature on the EON17's spec sheet. Want the full rundown? Grab a hanky first - not for you, but for the desktop system you're reading this on.

A wee bit of advice for a new Squidooer. Make two new lenses. One for "Collection of Olympic Mascot From 1968 to 2014" and another for "Selena Gomez - Complete Collection of Songs & Albums". They are good topics, but they have nothing to do with "Top 6 Most Powerful Gaming Laptops". You would be better off selling laptop gamer accessories or games to this lens instead as they are related to your gaming topic.

@snowcloud: I thought about that in the beginning too.but since EON17 featured with hex core,it beats alienware.24GB RAM is more than enough more latest game available in the market now.So,32gb RAM is not that necessary.just my 2 cents :)

I like the idea of a laptop but I still prefer having a desktop -- at least if something breaks I can open the case and replace it myself. :-)

@JillY88: Yup,I think because trend now show that more people love gaming laptop as it is more mobile+stylish. However, desktop spec still ahead from laptop and people still buy it because desktop is cheaper compare to laptop :)

I hear laptops are taking over from desktops now. I'm totally not a gamer but I do like to play sometimes with my nephew, not that I have a clue what to do. Very informative lens.

Gaming has definitely taken a life of its own and you've listed some powerful laptops here. I'm not gamer, but I've used Toshiba and Dell laptops in the past 15 years. My preference is Toshiba.

@chamanto: thanks for the comment chamanto.Yup i also think that most of the time base configuration serve well the gamer.Except for hardcore one, they might need more extreme gaming laptop :)

Wow. Great collection of laptops. I play few times a week, and my Dell base configuration serves the purpose well.

I have an Alienware laptop, mine is a few years old already but it is still better than my wife's brand new Acer laptop.
