Digital Graphics Pen
The Wacom Inkling is a digital graphics pen from the experts in graphics tablets. The Inkling uses a receiver to detect what is drawn on real paper using the Inkling ballpoint pen. You can then transfer your sketches as layered vector graphics to your computer for editing.
This is a very useful tool for professional and amateur graphics designers and artists and anyone who enjoys sketching or needs to quickly create digital designs.
The Wacom Inkling was released in mid-November 2011 (was September, then October, but has been pushed out), in time to be a Christmas gift. After an initial delay the devices became available.

Wacom Inkling Release Date
When can I get an Inkling?
According to a Wacom Inkling press release, the Inkling release date is now mid-November 2011. Excellent, it will be out in plenty of time for Christmas.
Update: The Inkling was supposed to be released in mid-September, then mid-October. Apparently they have had problems getting the units produced. What a shame.
If you have one on preorder from Amazon, they will get shipped first:
"The Inkling product will be introduced in the USA with limited availability in mid-November. Initial supplies of the product will be used to fulfill a portion of the backlog of orders at Amazon.com, currently Wacom's selected reseller of the product in the United States. Our Wacom team are working hard to increase the availability of the product over time, and will post updates as information becomes available. We deeply appreciate the patience of our customers as we introduce this exciting new product." Source
