Why I Love My Morphie Juice Pack

Updated on October 19, 2014

I love my iPhone and find myself using it all day long, however depending on what apps I am using my battery has a tendency of running low frequently. Unfortunately, like most people these days, I use my phone for much more than talking. I use the camera and video functions to record memorable events or scenes I come across, in hopes I might use them later as inspiration for a hub, or just to add to my scrapbook. Previously, I was limited to charging my battery with a wall outlet at home or charging my phone while I was in my car, until my husband I were introduced to the Morphie Juice Pack.

One night at dinner with friends we began discussing our new iPhones, and I asked if they had to charge their phones frequently like we did. Our friends said they had that problem until they bought a wireless phone charger, and were now able to charge their phone whenever they needed to. Immediately, my husband and I both were all ears and wanted more information about this device.

I assumed this new gadget, like other extended batteries I had seen before, would be bulky and difficult to use, but I could not have been more wrong. The bottom portion of this device is removable, and all that is required is to slide your phone inside the Morphie then re-attach the bottom cover. When the battery is low you simply turn the device on, and turn it back off when the battery is fully charged. There are indicator lights to let you know how much charge is left on the device. It functions just like a regular cover by providing protection to the phone, has an opening for the camera as well as buttons for the power and volume switches. Once activated, the Morphie recharges my phone quickly, however the precise time it takes depends on how low my battery is before I turn on the device. The Morphie itself is recharged by wall adapter, or if needed, the USB cable can be attached to a computer or car charger. Rest assured, if you have an android phone, there are Morphie products available for those, too.

The only downside to this device, is the weight it adds to your phone, but I have not found this aspect to be bothersome. Needless to say, it was not long before we were out purchasing this cool gadget for ourselves, and it has been one of the best investments we have ever made. The Morphie Juice Pack ranges in cost from $90.00-$120.00, with the exact cost dependent on where the device is purchased. We both use this device daily and it has become an essential tool we cannot do without. I love the fact I am now free to charge my phone as I go about my daily activities. If you are looking for a device which will enable you to charge your phone wirelessly, or by wall outlet, the Morphie Juice Pack is a wise choice.

Do you need to charge your iPhone at least once during the day?

@Skipsmom: It is a great way to charge your phone on the go!! I did see some Morphie Juice Packs for iPhone 4/4S, however I don't know of any products similar to this for the iPad.

We love our smartphones and iPad. This sounds like a great way to keep your phone charged even when your away from power supplies!! We have iPhone 4s, will the juice pack work on them? Also what about iPads? Again a great lens!!!!!!

What a cool tool! I don't have a smart phone, but I have kiddos who certainly would appreciate this. Glad you found a solution to your problem. Thanks for sharing!
