The organization purchases new and used merchandise from department stores and other charitable organizations and also accepts donated items from individuals and groups. These items are offered for sale to the public at low prices.
There are a number of America's Thrift Stores located throughout the southeast, with locations in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, and Tennessee. The Mobile, AL branch is located at 5441 Highway 90 in the part of town known as Tillman's Corner.
America's Thrift Stores, Inc. is a nonprofit faith-based organization that raises money to support The American Family Foundation, Teen Challenge, King's Home, and other ministries designed to help individuals and families who are in need of assistance.

Funds raised go to support Habitat for Humanity projects in the local community.

Operated by the Junior League of Mobile, Seconds on Sage carries an ever-changing selection of donated apparel, household goods, toys, furniture, jewelry, and more. Most merchandise offered for sale is donated by the organization's members. Some large ticket items are offered for sale on a consignment basis. Funds raised to go help support the organization's charitable activities within Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Seconds on Sage is located in midtown Mobile at 85 North Sage Avenue.
