4th of July 2011 - Point Pleasant Boardwalk in New Jersey with video
I visited family with my daughter in New Jersey and we went to the Point Pleasant boardwalk by the beach. The traffic was horrible, and finding parking was worse, but we finally made it.
This video shows some of nice views of the food service, games, amusement park, souvenir shops and the spectacular beach. This is one of the biggest beach attractions by the New Jersey shore next to Atlantic City, Seaside Heights, and Sandy Hook.
Check out this video as I took it in mid air at the Flying Swings ride. My daughter made the height restriction as long as she went on with an adult. The local amusement park by us, called Adventureland, does not allow her on the Swing Wave (same ride), as she does not make the height restriction there. I don't understand how you cannot make the height restriction on the same ride for one park and not make it for the other. She loved it.
When you go to Point Pleasant Beach, you can visit a hugely popular restaurant called Jenkinsons and it has beach parties. Jenkinsons services pizza, hotdogs, steaks and has a raw bar as well as a booze bar. There are always bands performing there at night and some of New Jersey's most popular acts play here including The Nerds and Southside Johnnyu and the Asbury Jukes.
Travelling to Point Pleasant
You can take New Jersey's main highway, the Garden State Parkway south to Exit 98 which is Route 34 south. Take that for 6 miles and you are in Pt Pleasant, but you can also take the train, New Jersey Transit rail line, North Jersey Coast Lin and that goes to New York Penn Station.
