5 Romantic Disneyland Experiences

Updated on March 1, 2016

Some people may think Disneyland is "just for kids", but that couldn't be farther from the truth! Disneyland is treasured by everyone - adults and kids alike. In fact, a trip to the park can actually be a really romantic vacation, and many couples choose Disneyland as their anniversary, wedding, or honeymoon destination. Read on to find out about five truly magical, dreamy experiences at the famous Disneyland Resort.

1. Ride the Storybook Canals in the Evening

When I was visiting Disneyland with my husband back in 2013, we stumbled upon the Storybook Canals by accident. We were passing by when we realized there was only a 5 minute wait, so we decided to hop on and see what it was all about! We were pleasantly surprised, as this ride is quite charming. Travel in small boats to take a tour through miniature fairy tale lands, guided by a Disney cast member. The ride is particularly romantic in the evening, when the gardens and sculptures are lit up.

2. Watch the Fireworks Show, "Disneyland Forever" Together

Every night, Disneyland ends the day with a spectacular fireworks show. Seeing the fireworks burst over Sleeping Beauty's Castle is something that never gets old, and it's even better sharing it with that special someone. Disneyland debuted a new fireworks show entitled "Disneyland Forever" in 2015 for their 50th anniversary, and the show is currently still running. My husband and I were able to watch the new show on our latest trip to Disney, and I can honestly say it's my favorite fireworks show yet! It includes several magical moments, and plays tribute to many of the older Disney movies as well, which I always appreciate.

3. Dine at the Cajun-Style Blue Bayou Restaurant

You've probably seen this restaurant while riding Pirates of the Caribbean! This Cajun style restaurant is located in the same building. This restaurant has a really special outdoor ambiance, even though it's indoors! This is a true dining experience, with carefully designed lighting and air conditioning designed to make you feel like you're eating under a sky full of stars. My husband and I were able to dine at this restaurant back in 2013, and I can vouch for its deliciousness. Please note that advance reservations are highly recommended, due to the popularity of the restaurant. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, and prices range from $30-$59.99 per adult.

4. Consider Staying at the Magical Disneyland Hotel

There's really nothing more magical than enjoying a full day at Disneyland, and then heading back to your luxurious Disneyland Hotel room! The rooms all have special Disney touches to make you and your sweetie feel like Cinderella and Prince Charming. If you need a break from the crowds, feel free to soak in the Jacuzzi together for some quiet time, or take a refreshing dip in the pool. This resort is within walking distance to the park, which is an added convenience.

5. Take a Stroll Around the Downtown Disney District

The Downtown Disney District has a variety of specialty shops, restaurants, and entertainment available. Stop by Marceline's Confectionery (one of my personal favorites) to share a Mickey Mouse shaped cookie. Be sure to have a look around at the WonderGround Gallery, which features unique and whimsical Disney-themed art. Then, sit down and have a meal together at the Rainforest Cafe, a themed restaurant that has the atmosphere of a tropical rainforest.

Just for fun - a poll!
