This is Avneet from India and I love traveling new places especially those with pristine views...

Unspoiled Nature

Is spending money and time on travel worth it?

Can travel help us relieve stress and bring happiness? Travel definitely does and here’s how:

  1. We Gain Self Confidence

Traveling new places makes us navigate unknown cities, sometimes communicate with gestures, visit exotic destinations, and get to know about different cultures. While we’re traveling, it opens to awesome experiences like visiting new places, see amazing things, eat crazy food, and meet new people. Such things make us more confident in both our skills and experiences. When we leave our comfort zone and explore the world, it boosts our self-confidence because we’re doing most of the arrangements on our own. Being confident means we’re equipped to handle challenges by conquering our fears and depression.

  2. We Get Lasting Memories

Unlike the short-lived happiness we get from shopping or eating our favorite food in restaurants, traveling gives us lasting memories. Traveling is an invitation to live life happily because we get so many good memories to think about and share with our loved ones. Though life is now and while traveling we’re constantly living a present moment but we’re also creating timeless memories and when we talk or think about them, it keeps us happy and going.

  3. We Get to Know Ourselves

When we’re traveling new destinations, nobody knows us and we have nothing to pretend or hide, it’s just about ourselves. Traveling in a place where we are a complete stranger gives us an opportunity to know ourselves, meaning we can see our emotions without the intervention of others. When we’re away from the comforts of our home, we completely rely on ourselves. It could a great opportunity to know what makes us happier and being happy means being healthy.

  4. We Gain a Fresh Perspective

Leaving the confines of our town, state, or country gives us the opportunity to know how other people live their lives. When we see the lives of others, we gain a fresh perspective to everything including our lifestyle, our social standing, our family, our friends, our faith and everything in-between. Traveling puts us in direct contact with people from different backgrounds and we get to learn from their viewpoint.

  5. We Relax

The level of happiness we experience post-vacation is always high because we relaxed during the time we were away. We place so much emphasis on work that often times we equate money with happiness and we forget to take time to sit back and relax. Traveling reminds us that there are so many amazing things life has to offer and all we need is to find a beautiful destination, make a plan, go there and relax.

Everything I have written is based on my experience with traveling and it’s given me the opportunity to see that traveling does make us happier and healthier…
