Whether you are in Miami for a vacation, fun or for business, you will be able to go around the city more with a car. It is not hard to find companies or agencies renting a car in Miami Florida (there are hundreds...) so read below 5 things to remember when you rent a car in Miami.

#1. Save Money renting a car

Do not rent your car inside the South Florida Airports and Ports

Affordable rental agencies are usually found outside the airport. If you haven't made any car rental Miami Airport reservations online and are looking for car hire in Miami, then the best option for you will be to look for agencies away from the airport.

Contrary to what most people believe, airport rates are not that affordable because of the other rental companies in the same area. In fact, airport rates are often not negotiable.

Well if you book your car with any of the big guys.... they will only accept credit card (not even Debit cards). Some small rent a car companies accept debit cards if they have an appropriate with Mastercard or Visa Logo. Debit cards have some limitations and it is recommended that you check with your bank before you try to book a car with a debit card. Some agencies replace the credit card for an extra deposit.

Most of the Miami high ways only accept sun pass or pay by plate options when you pass a toll! Sometimes you don't even know where the toll are (because you can not have the option of pay with cash). So do not try to save money obviating the option of a Sun Pass, you could pay more than $200 in "toll violations"

If you book your car in any of the inside airport rent a car company, be prepare to spend 2, 3 or sometimes 4 hours to get your car, Why? MIA, for example, after you pick your bags you should walk to the monorail station (inside the airport) to go to the Rent a car center (about 40 minutes) then you should go to any of the 4 floors finding your company (20 more minutes). After that, be prepare to wait in line for at least 2 hours (remember, MIA is one of the most traffic airports in US) to talk and request your car; then, filling out the paper work, getting your keys and choose your car (20 more minutes). so you will lost more than 3 hours in a 20 minutes transaction.

In other hand, Most of could pick you up at the airport terminal and make an eco-friendly service in just 15 minutes.
