Summer brings heat and humidity and the first thing that comes to most peoples mind is to escape to the mountains or the beaches. And North Carolina has some of the most beautiful beach destinations in the world.

The North Carolina Outer Banks is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. And the North Carolina Outer Banks offers history along with its beautiful beaches. You can visit the place where the Wright Brothers took mans first flight at Kill Devil Hills. And you can visit Roanoke Island where the first European settlement was only to later become the lost colony. In 1587 on Roanoke Island 120 men and women landed and established the first European settlement. Shortly after they arrived Virginia Dare the first English child born in the New World as it was then called was born to colonist Eleanor Dare. However by 1590 the entire colony vanished and has been a mystery to this day. You can visit Roanoke Island today and attend an outdoor drama play about the Lost Colony.

Bald Head Island is one of the most beautiful and unique places in North America. No cars are allowed on the island but you can get around by electric golf cart. And on the 12.000 acre island you'll find 10.000 acres of untouched marshes , beaches and forest. Be sure to see Old Baldy Lighthouse and what ever you do be sure to bring your camera.

Atlantic Beach North Carolina is located on Bogue Banks a barrier island bounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Bogue Sound. The area is also known as North Carolina's Crystal Coast. And you can drive on the beach from October 1 through March 15th. Take walks along the beach at night and watch for Sea Turtles but don't disturb them. You'll also find some of the best fishing in the world here.

Figure Eight Island is a private resort community and you will have to pay if you want to visit but its well worth it. It is one of the most exclusive beach resorts in the world.

If your looking for the perfect beach vacation site Oak Island North Carolina has something for everyone including a eighteen hole golf course with in walking distance of the beach. Oak Island has 10 miles of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast of the United States. Fishermen can enjoy fishing from piers , surf side , or deep sea. People come from all over the world to fish in the Oak Island King Mackerel Tournament usually held in October. And if your looking for tasty seafood you're in the best place in the world. Sunset Beach North Carolina is the southern most of the Brunswick Island beaches. There is a really great fishing pier on Sunset Beach and some really pretty beaches to enjoy. And the Seafood Capital of the world , Calabash North Carolina is only a few miles away. If you want the best seafood in the world then you need to plan a visit to Calabash North Carolina.

Carolina Beach North Carolina is a beach vacation paradise with lots of Shopping , a Boardwalk , A State Aquarium , a Great Fishing Pier , and the Carolina Beach State Park.

Topsail Beach is located at the southern end of Topsail Island which is a barrier island located just off the coast of North Carolina. There is a legend that pirates including Blackbeard used Topsail Island as a hiding place and as a hiding place for their treasure. There are over 1500 homes located at Topsail Beach but only about 500 year round residents. The only Sea Turtle Hospital located in North Carolina is located on Topsail Beach. Maybe just maybe the Queen Ann's Revenge and Blackbeard are just off the beach there still haunting Topsail Island today.

Wrightsville Beach is a breathe taking stretch of paradise as the clear ocean waters of the area resemble those of the Caribbean. And the sunrises and sunsets here can simply take your breathe away.
