Water Country USA (Williamsburg, Virginia)

Summary: In 1984, Water Country USA opened in Williamsburg, Virginia. The park has 17 rides and lots of attractions each year. The park is themed after surfers from the 1950s primarily. The Lazy River circles 700 feet in the park and it plays 50s rock music as you relax. Misters and free sun block dispensers are spread strategically throughout the park. It's definitely a family place and entertainment is always happening on stage for patrons.

Comments: The rides are well worth it and the rides are for adults and children. The shows that are always being performed by musicians and such make this park a happening place indeed. I have always liked parks that have water rides and thrill rides at one destination.

The beach is 248 miles long and it hosts a variety of events annually and of course it welcomes vacationers every summer. Other than the beach and ocean Virginia Beach also has an amusement park, lots of clubs and bars, golf courses and great dining.

Comments: The beaches are beautiful and well kept by the county. Volleyball, sun tanning, swimming, fishing and boating are all part of Virginia Beach but the nightlife is also a happening scene. Restaurants, dance clubs and amusement and water parks are located within minutes of the ocean. One thing I enjoy at this beach is that it has a long, concrete walkway just before the sand starts and it's several miles long.

Mount Trashmore Park (Virginia Beach, Virginia)

Summary: This landfill turned park opened in 1974. The park which is situated in the heart of Virginia Beach is 165 acres in size. The park has several entertaining things to do including: two fishing lakes, swimming, basketball and volleyball courts, picnic areas and a playground. The most unique thing about the park though is the skate park located in the rear. The skate park is 24,000 feet and it features a full skating bowl that is seven feet deep.

.Comments: By most accounts it's just a normal park but the skating area truly separates it from the usual. If you do not skate don't worry because watching is as fun as doing it. Also, bicycle trails are on the other end with huge hills for optimum speed. Just wear safety gear and you will be fine on skateboards or a bicycle.
