The Parish of San Juan Bautista
Between 1885 and 1886, Fr. Buenaventura Marredon from the parish of Jimenez was assigned in the municipality following the footsteps of Father Francisco Jimenez de San Fermin. He was succeeded by Fathers Cipriano Lojarraga and Juan Ruiz as in-charge of the then “out-church”. It was during this period when construction of the old Catholic church building was started. The church building was finally completed by Fr. Jose Abad in 1894.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has declared the Parish of San Juan Bautista as National Cultural Treasure. For it possessed outstanding historical, cultural, artistic value. This church is constructed during the Spanish colonial period, yet it remained untouched and well preserved.
Do you want a little spice for your life? Then pack your bags and get your things ready for an adventurous trip to Kalutungan Falls located at Aquino, Carmen Jimenez Mis.Occ.!
Going to Kalutungan Falls is not that simple, from the terminal of Jimenez, you will have to find a motorcycle that will take you to Carmen, it will probably take you 30 minutes to get there and from Carmen, you'll need to walk for 1-2 more hours just to reach Kalutungan. Ughhh. That's exhausting but if you like to walk, then this is a great opportunity for you! This trip will surely be a fun way to exercise your legs..
Christian's Parque de Atracciones
This is located at Butuay, Jimenez Misamis Occidental, a bar and resto owned by Mayor Lim Quimbo.
Hello!!!!!!!!!The woman in a red shirt is waving at you, She's inviting us to come over....Come, let's take a look at what's inside..
Look at their faces, they're all wearing a smile...
Visiting atracciones brought back so many childhood memories.....I remember the first time I learned how to climb a tree, I was only 5 years old at that time, (yeah, only 5, i told you, my mom is a monkey, j/k)
When I climb the highest part of the tree, then the wind starts to blow, and its branches just swayed back and forth, it felt like the tree is dancing, and its talking to me, and were connected and there's no greater feeling compared to that, it's like finding peace and solitude and contentment. The feelings are all the same when I reached the highest part of this treehouse, so relaxing!!!
The Camel River
This river is one of the many reasons why I love Jimenez so much. This is the essence of my childhood. This is our swimming pool, our playground, we used to have our picnics here all the time. This river reminded me of our little selves, innocently teasing each other and making childish pranks. We went swimming here naked, yah kids, lol, those were the days..
Our adventures were explored here, according to 'an old folks tales', this river holds many mysteries, our parents always warned us about the many supernatural creatures (like engkantos) that lives here, due to our curiosity and hungry minds, (to test our bravery as well) we tried to solve the mysteries behind this river, but we never encountered such beings...I'm glad they didn't showed up, otherwise, I will never return to this place again, hehe.. Either this beings existed or not, to me 'Camel River' is magical, life changing, and as always 'enchanting'.
Fact or Fiction
Did you know that expensive furniture has been delivered in this place yet no one was there to claim it?....
Who would have bought such an expensive furniture and leave it near the camel river? Was it the engkantos?? Who knows....Ehhhhh....
Also some local villagers had seen a huge huge ship floating in the middle of the river.... Seriously, I'm not kidding! I have heard so many stories about this river, but I'm not here to scare you, so lets go back to our tour, hehe.
Patafla Beach Resort
There are so many beaches here in the Philippines, but with so many to chose from, it can be very difficult to decide the most impeccable of all....... Some prefer Boracay, Camiguin or Palawan, etc. But to me, I prefer Patafla Beach Resort...
I'll be real, if your expecting a sparkling clear water, shimmering white sand, sexy girls in a bikini dipping in the hot sun, and handsome guys in their swimming trunks, ahhh (yuummm), then you'll be disappointed.
.......It's just an ordinary beach resort, with a black soft sand, cool sea water, and small bamboo cottages for people to come and gather, so on.....
But what makes Patafla so special?---This is where our priceless moments took place ---- Our Treasured Memories! now, nothing is more beautiful than that.....!!!
"The future of a man is not a creation out of nothing, but a recreation of a past." The best and most treasured memories can sometimes carry a shade of pain. Its part of growing! Mistakes and failures are molders, teaching us the many lessons in life while the best of the memories and experiences, are always treasured and remembered, without the up's and down's in life, we wouldn't be the person we are right now. Everyday is a gift, try to smile and appreciathe life...."
I used to play a lot of video games! But I'm always thrilled to play Kino der Torten (Call of duty black ops)..... When everything's, been draggin' you down, grabs you by the hair and pulls you to the ground, if you wanna get up... YOU NEED A LITTLE REVIIIIIIVE!...YEAH! All I need is to drink a cola to revive! But that only happens in videogames, haha.........
In real life, we all need to revive! And where's the best place to do it???? HOME of course.......
