A Review of Encore Hotel in Las Vegas

Updated on March 22, 2011

Modern Luxury by Steve Wynn

Encore Hotel is the sister property of the Wynn Hotel and Resort and is one of the newest and most luxurious hotels in all of Las Vegas. It's located at the top of the main part of the Las Vegas Strip (Las Vegas Boulevard South), right across the street from the Fashion Show Mall. It's not an ideal location if you plan on roaming around by foot, because it's about a 50 minute walk from the top to the bottom of the Strip. Trust me, I've made that walk many times.

If you want to stay in a luxury hotel that's more in the middle of the Strip I would recommend the Bellagio. CityCenter is also a good option. For the best hotel, resort, nightlife and gaming experience within one hotel, I think Encore beats them all.

The rooms, the resort, and nightlife

The cheapest price you can pay for a room at Encore is with the Resort Suite King room, which starts at around $159 a night. It's $209 for a double queen of the same room. They do offer a choice of views, including the Strip, the pool, or a view facing north towards downtown Las Vegas. The prices for rooms (all suites or better) just go up from there, and I mean WAY up.

The two bedroom apartment is $1,750 a night, but I think it compares well against some of the Villas that other hotels offer for twice as much, which is surprising since this is one of the top luxury hotels. The average size of an apartment is over 3,000 square feet. There's a three bedroom apartment that averages over 5,000 square feet, but you need to reserve those far in advance because they tend to get bought up by the high rollers. I think they are also a popular choice among honeymooners.

For entertainment, Encore has the XS nightclub, which is now one of the most popular spots in all of Las Vegas. On any given night you might spot a celebrity or three in there. The club features a large pool and you'll need to make reservations if you don't know the doorman.

During the day, there's a pool and spa for you to hang around, along with some of the best fine dining in the city.
